“Frankly, DogSlinger Offers Winning Wieners Warmer days had my wife Shelly and me jonesing for summer grub, so we decided to investigate DogSlinger, located near the corner of St. Joseph Ave. and John Beers Rd. in the heart of uptown Stevensville, Michigan. Upon entering, we were greeted with giant artsy photos of each type of dog on the menu, and our mouths immediately began to water. The wall of photos made ordering easy since we could see each type of hot dog. Conversely, it made it more difficult to order because there were so many unique dogs and sausages that we wanted to try. Per usual, we did some splitsies. We started off with the Seattle Dog, which found the Vienna all-beef hot dog nestled in a cream cheese laden brioche bun and topped with freshly cut and grilled onions and peppers. The warmth of the hot dog caused the cream cheese to soften and melt into the bun. The saltiness of the dog was nicely accentuated by the mild, sweet, and tangy hints of cream cheese. I said “Yeehaw,” when I bit into the Cowboy Dog, which was wrapped in bacon, topped with cheese sauce, BBQ sauce, and some house-made crispy onion strips…oh, and then more chunks of bacon! The hickory smoke flavor of the bacon and the sweetness of the BBQ were well balanced. You’d better saddle up before trying to rustle this beast. I never thought one hot dog could fill me up, but this was one big meaty dog! The Termintater (not a typo) is DogSlinger’s version of a loaded baked potato. Somewhere near the bottom of this creation was a hot dog suffocated by a myriad of tater tots and meat chili. Nacho cheese sauce, sour cream and their house-made Slinger Sauce was drizzled over the heap before it was garnished with fresh-sliced scallions. In football, we call this “piling on!” Of course, we couldn’t leave without having the traditional Chicago Dog. It’s hard to beat this classic when it’s made with premium ingredients. A true Chicago dog must start with an authentic Vienna Beef brand all-beef frank in a steamed poppy-seed bun and topped with neon green sweet relish, chopped onion, yellow mustard, tomato slices, a kosher spear, pickled peppers known as “sport peppers” and a dash of celery salt. Do not embarrass yourself by asking for ketchup on it. Actually, they will make it for you that way, but they may razz you a bit.“

“My 4yo daughter and I stopped in for frozen yogurt to celebrate her good report at the dentist. The gals working behind the counter were so nice and even sent us home with a complimentary sample of their upcoming peppermint milkshake to be released for the holidays. “Husband had this pizza years ago at a rural location. He completely forgot about it until seeing sign at a different location in another very rural area. I personally have never had it and I'm extremely picky when it comes to pizza. It's one of my favorite foods. Well he suggested I try it because he remembers loving it over a decade ago. So I agreed and got a simple pepperoni pizza and then drove 15 mins home. Only cost $11.99 plus tax for a 12" Pizza which is cheapest pizza I've ever purchased. I had to rewarm it which made me hesitant on the quality. I was totally wrong. THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST PIZZA I HAVE EVER EATEN. First purchase for me was yesterday and today I went out and bought 2 more. Great dough, sauce, cheese the works. I will forever be a Hunt Brothers Pizza only..“
“Would give 5 stars for delicious pizza and good beer, but the music (good selections!) was extremely loud. Difficult to hold conversations. Had headache by time I left.“
“First visit and we'll be back. It's a bit off the beaten path but well worth the drive. The lady that took care of us knows their wines and zeroed in to my taste preference's quickly making some suggestions. Red wines from Michigan always seem to be a tad bit lacking in my opinion. Well, Free Run Cellars just blew my opinion out of the water. I did a flight of reds not expecting much and tried the Lemberger, Sangiovese Reserve and Meritage. All three were excellent but the Lemberger and Sangiovese Reserve were outstanding and would easily rate at a 92 to 93. I'd put these two up against reds from anywhere. I've been to wineries in France, Italy and all over the USA. If you're in to visiting wineries, I strongly recommend visiting Free Run Cellars and sampling their wines.“

“I’ve been trying to come here for years and it did not disappoint :)
We got the hummus sampler platter appetizer, and an entrée that was not on the menu called the kebab sampler platter. Both exceeded expectations.
I’d love to eat my way through the entire menu. The flavors were so subtle and aromatic. If you go, consider over-ordering because it’s such great leftovers food.
The atmosphere is simple and quiet inside and peaceful and shady outside. There’s a pond at the entrance with frogs and an herb garden up the front walk. The service from Brandy was cheerful and prompt. Overall one of my favorite dinner spots in the area.
The only opportunity here is hours of operation so I hope you can happen upon this wonderful spot when it’s open!“

“The food is great and good size portions that we left no room for dessert so we went back a second time and ordered appetizers and desserts for dinner. Got the shrimp that was outstanding and the chocolate cake. Between the great food and very friendly service we decided to go for a third time for lunch. What a wonderful place and I can say if we get back this way from Ohio again we will make it a point in stopping by for great food again“
