Food was good, me and my friends had the buffet. When it was time to go, the 2 young ladies who were working, couldn't operate the cash register. They completely messed up my friends bill, charging her for alcohol, which she didn't have! There was a language barrier as well, which didn't help the situation. I'm not upset with the employees, but, whoever was in charge that day, should have been near the cash register!

Buffet style Mexican food. There were plenty of good options. Pork, chicken, refried beans, I even tried a pinto bean dish that had peppers and onions in it. They also have every topping you can imagine. It's just a short drive from the college.

The restaurant building is a little run-down, but don't let that fool you. The food is really good.The ground beef for the nachos could use some more flavor, but the pork carnitas, the steak fajitas, and the chicken fajitas are all really, really good!! And they have these amazing taquito-like things that were amazing.

Pros:the bathroom is immaculatethe barbacoa is really, really deliciousthe tortillas were warm and freshthe fruit was absolutely perfectly ripe and deliciousCons: There was no music, so it was dead silent when we came in and we stood around for a few minutes waiting for someone to seat us, then it took about ten minutes to get drinks and tortillas. I thought it was weird that their air conditioner kinda sounded like a bird sometimes before I realized that the air conditioner was, in fact, full of birds.A lot of the food was dead on the buffet. It isn't really kept warm enough and the queso was runny and had a skin, the rice was ready to be replaced, and weirdly the lettuce was swimming in like half an inch of water.The tortilla chips were two obviously different brands with one being white corn and one being yellow corn, and some of them were inedibly stale. The sweet options at the buffet consisted of watermelon, pineapple, and watermelon jello.Another pro: they finally did turn on some pretty loud tejano music and then the kitchen was playing different loud music so by the time we were finishing up, you could barely hear the birds living in the air conditioner.For $16 a head, I'll pass next time, but if they offer a take out option for barbacoa, I'll be first in line.

The food was great we came in at 3:00 we were the only people in the restaurant. The buffet was loaded and fresh. Everything we had was great. This is the best mexican restaurant I have ate at!!! Reminds me of a more traditional family style meal. The corn tortillas were fresh and warm. Everything tasted good. They could clear used plates faster, but overall good experience. We go back.

The food is not what you the corn tortillas were really deep fried hard . There was no salsa on the bar. The refried beans were a light gray color and was pureed. Was not happy at all the website said so much more which would have been a really neat experience to go to. But it was nothing like it really was advertised by the talking lady on the video. When you get there and there wasn't a bunch to drink there's just some bottles hanging on the wall wasn't like a full bar. This is the first really ever really bad experience at a restaurant. I'm not one to judge anything like this but it was not a good experience at all was very unhappy and cost way too much for what you got. Our friend was with us and it's not handicapped friendly well that's what I think of the Gatos Mexican buffet.

Went for the buffet. $15.99 includes the drink. Bring out fresh tortillas; corn and flour. Have homemade shells already on the buffet. Guac and Pico were phenomenal. Wide variety of meats. Loved the chicken and steak fajita meat. Made own nachos that were great. Fresh fruit was fantastic too. Favorite thing, could have honestly just eaten this and been happy, was the mini chimi's. They were ridiculously good. Can't recommend them enough. Staff was great. Place was clean. Not the easiest location for the majority of folks but well worth the trip.

Greeted with a smile as soon as we walked in by the gentleman behind the bar, placed our order, and went to our table. The buffet is small at first glimpse, but well stocked with good choices. The quality of food wasn't too bad at all, no complaints there. If you need refills on your drink or tortillas, you have to take it up to the bar, but they are quick to take care of you. This place is a bar vs an actual restaurant, so concealed carry is not allowed, but they do have that posted as you walk in for any unsuspecting patrons. Would stop again if I was in the neighborhood.
