I still think of that blueberry muffin! The coffee was great and so many options I love the cafe with the birds and flowers! Such a pretty place

Was very excited to try this place as it was highly recommended. However the parking situation was horrendous and you end up parking by a run down mechanic shop. Walking in the atmosphere had a lively energy to it unfortunately the staff did not. Once we arrived the workers at the counter never greeted us and never acknowledged that we were waiting in line. We waited for about five minutes and no one at the counter even glanced in our direction. We love to support small businesses but this time we took our business elsewhere unfortunately. Hopefully others have a better experience.

This place has potential because of its beautiful setting and the young server who served our coffees who was kind and professional but otherwise this place is quite terrible. From the indifferent greeting by the grumpy man at the counter, 45 min wait, wrong order (same for the table next to us), a parfait that tasted intensely of artificial sweetener, terrible cold coffee and high prices I would never recommend anyone go here.

This may be the cutest coffee shop and right on the canal, loved it!! Coffee was good and so was the food. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Limited parking in their lot. I only docked a star because the prices are higher than any other coffee shop I’ve been (that I can remember).

From the moment you see the building, you’re drawn in by its beauty and lush greenery. As you explore more, there is a feeling that every party there is having their own fun and unique experience. I’m so happy to we decided to visit and was pleasantly surprised with the high quality scratch cooking food. Don’t pass on the sweet potato tacos, we added the chorizo and avocado to balance it out. The Ken’s #2 omelet was as hearty as it sounds from the menu description. Expect a line, though it goes quickly. Add Clifford’s to your list of spots you can’t miss when enjoying the west side of Michigan.

We ordered coffees at 11:57 and waited until 12:45 for them. When we asked the owner, he said Saturday and Sunday is like this. No apology, no attempt to be helpful. At 1:00 we were told they were closing, which we knew, but given we had only been served, we would have expected they wiuld allow us to finish our drinks. I have been here in the past, but we were treated unprofessionally, rudely.

Went to Clifford’s for first time with out of town guests yesterday. Grumpy man taking orders and money- tells everyone that the kitchen takes 50 min- no problem we ordered a decaf Americana and a Mocha coffee- he tells us it will take 20 min
Sat outside - waited and waited , after 40 min we asked about our order (V)- he said give us 10 more minutes - just as a response
After 48 minutes we decided to leave- told him we were leaving - he didn’t even make eye contact or apologize - just mumbled
Worst experience you could have

Complete underwhelming experience. Been here a few times because we love the ambiance, that said, this visit was a reminder that atmosphere only goes so far if the experience doesn’t match.
The younger staff has always been great, friendly, attentive, and they usually make the coffee for you and bring it to your table. This time, the older gentleman at the front took our order and seemed less than interested in providing good service. I ordered an iced coffee with creamer… Instead of preparing the overpriced coffee for you, there was an uncovered metal bowl of half-and-half sitting out for self service. Not exactly the warm, thoughtful service we’ve had before…
We also decided to try the avocado toast for the first time… and probably the last. It was barely toasted sliced bread with avocado that was cut like a child’s meal. No seasoning, no garnish, no creativity. At $12.50 (plus $3.50 to add an egg), it felt more like something you’d throw together at home than a menu-worthy dish, especially at that price point. One of the younger staff members did end up bringing some seasoning and sliced tomato to try to recover the sad $16 sliced toast.
Details matter, and that’s what keeps people coming back. This time it was a dud.
