Hill District by North Pier

I’ve had two experiences here. The first my husband and I dined in. We were new to the area and ordered off a specialty menu for the area celebrating local foods. The main courses weren’t great. The drinks were delicious and the highlight was the poutine which we had never even hear of let alone eaten. But it was phenomenal. Fast forward a few months, I’m 4 months pregnant and was craving the poutine. That’s all we ordered and my husband drove 20 minutes to get it, got back and realized there was no gravy on it and the egg was very undercooked and the fries were burnt. (The gravy is the best part of the poutine!) After calling he was told the order said no gravy. He drove there and the most they would do is give us a tiny little cup of gravy because “the meat is too expensive…” I would’ve been happy without the meat honestly because they do give quite a bit but they were set on just the side of gravy. By the time he got back the food was cold and there wasn’t even enough gravy for the whole thing… The poutine is great if you order it fresh. Not sure we’ll be back.

North Pier has a great menu and has excellent service. Their non-alcoholic IPA beer was awesome, best I’ve had. The wife had a lager and enjoyed it, also. The server recommended the special of the day, ribs, and they were as good as he described, and the service was second to none.

This is a great local bar with food. I had the smash burger and it was well prepared with good ingredients. The Italian Stallion is also great with excellent meats on a tasty bun. The service was attentive and personable. The atmosphere is modern with a golf flavor. The prices are very reasonable.

Fantastic food!! Without doubt. I have been coming here quite frequently and have tried many dishes on the menu. From chicken wings to pork chops, ribs, and sandwiches! 😋 Food is full of flavour and smokey flavors! Local brewery as well!

Atmosphere could use a bit of work, but the food was incredible. Kitchen must be run by magicians. The brussels sprouts, wings, chopped chicken sandwich, smashburger, all were made fresh and delicious.
