Love this place. Run by students
Tasting room for the school. Knowledgeable students serving. Nice outdoor patio. Mostly drier wines served.
I had a tasting at Lake Michigan Vintners and it was very nice. The patio looks over a nice forested area, and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The wines were mostly dry and I found their riesling to be very drinkable and pleasant. Being related to the college it’s very cool. I feel like it’s difficult to make dry wines that appeal to a larger audience, so they did an excellent job. I plan to stop by again with my friends.
Interesting to visit with students and the tasting room manager and learn about their programs. Very good dry wines. We bought more wine here than many other places.
Definitely my favorite winery in the area. I love that it is connected to the Lake Michigan College viticulture program. The manager is amazing and she is VERY knowledgeable!! It is must stop whenever we are in the area.
We had an excellent time here and the wines were delicious! They are a teaching winery that is part of a college program, so it is very unique to the area. We just happened to stop because we were on our way to Chicago from Grand Rapids. We have always wanted to stop somewhere along the way, and this was the closest spot when I checked my maps. What luck!! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the people who work here and run the program seem super knowledgeable and passionate about their trade. So glad we stopped! We had some snow today, but the deck off of their tasting rooms looks like it will be a perfect spot to enjoy some beautiful Michigan weather.
Great service and excellent wines. My favorite was the merlot. Very nice patio to sit and sip.
Extremely friendly staff, amazing wine, and great selection of cheese and meats.
Fun place to experience for a quiet tasting. Friendly staff, great tasting wines, amazing cheese. A must try spot if your out and about in the region.
Our 7 plus foot tall host, and up and coming winemaker, was knowledgeable and informative. Products were really good and we purchased wine after a wonderful experience of tasting and conversation. Really enjoyed supporting the kids/young adults in the up and coming education of wine making.

Very enjoyable wines and hard cider, with much more depth and complexity than I expected from student made wines. They offer a nice variety, along with cheeses, crackers, olives and meat sticks. Because I am so close, I joined the wine club and tastings are free for myself and a guest. It is a new facility and you can even schedule a tour when you contact them in advance. I recommend calling before you visit to be sure they are open and have seating available. The deck is large at the back of the building and faces toward the main LMC campus. From there you can observe a natural woodland and a pond as you enjoy their wines.
Nice little tasting room in a completely dead town. Only giving 4 stars because they were out of most of their dry wines. The ones we did taste were very good. Our server was very pleasant. Worth a stop.
It was ok. The tasting was quite rushed. No sooner than we had finished tasting one wine then they were pouring the next. The staff told us about the wines we were tasting but it was like they were just reading from a script and was very rehearsed. There was no cosy atmosphere that made us want to stay any longer than around 20 minutes. Was not worth the $10 per person to taste and we wouldn't bother going back again.
Very good wine with great flavors and no junk added to.enhance the flavor.
