The service was amazing. Our waiter Sophia P. Was attentive and friendly and provided excellent customer service. We were a large group, and she patiently waited for all of us to arrive and got the all the ordering , and with the help of of the other staff delivered our food with preciseness. Not only was she a great waiter , she even took time to take pictures of our group and moved tables around, and made sure we were all visible on the picture. Sophia P. The waitress was attentive and very friendly. I had originally wanted the golden chai, but sadly they were out so I got the Bonfire latte instead. It was a huge mug and very good. I also ordered the goat cheese grit cakes. The potatoes were so good and I loved that you can tell everything is fresh to order. My only real complaint is that the goat cheese flavor was sort of lost in the grit cake even when I tried it on its own without the egg on top. But the texture was so velvety and wonderful that I forgave the lack of goat cheese flavor. Though maybe a little slice of goat cheese on top would really bring the dish together.
If I am in the neighborhood again I will definitely come back here!

My wife and I stopped in for lunch yesterday for our first time. Everything was delicious and our server, Faith, was outstanding. I had the crab quiche with breakfast potatoes and jalapeño, Cheddar sausage all delicious. My wife had a vegetarian burger and fries and she enjoyed both. This is a nice, well run, welcoming restaurant that I most highly recommend.

If you're visiting this area of Lake Michigan you should try Mason Jar Cafe at least once. The quality of the food is unlike anything you will find elsewhere. It's a culinary experience. That being said this place gets busy during the summer on the weekend. However, they have recently remodeled and increased the size of the kitchen, hired more cooks, and added more seating to the back of the restaurant. So if you haven't been here in 2025 it still gets busy but they can manage it better than they did in the past.
If you read some old news story about some girl who worked here having a bad experience. The whole thing was bogus and clickbait. Most of the staff here are regulars who have been here for years and there is a family vibe that you will be able to see for yourself if you visit. Everyone here is very warm and welcoming especially the owners Jayme and Abel.
The parking lot can get crowded but there is parking in adjacent lots and on the street. This is only an issue in the summer during tourist season. The prices are going to be a little higher than average but you're getting fresh food made from scratch with high quality ingredients. This is still a 5 star restaurant that is unrivaled locally.

I’ve been going to Mason Jar Cafe for years and never had a disappointing meal there. The food is wonderful and I appreciate having so many vegetarian options. I’m always to take friends that are visiting from out of town there too. The expansion will help with the wait time.

It makes me so sad to write this but the take out here is unacceptable!! We have been there twice and it’s so slow (45 minutes when told 20 minutes). Also the coffee drinks are never done when the food is so your food gets gross/old while you wait 10 minutes for a latte. Avoid for takeout until they figure it out!
