This tavern is a gem! I was in town on business and looking for a place to have a beer and a snack—Gypsy Nickel checked all the boxes. I was greeted promptly upon entering, grabbed a seat at the bar, and had a cold beer in front of me within minutes. The chips and salsa were fresh and very tasty. All around, just a great place to relax and enjoy.

Stopped in at Gypsy Nickel in Big Rapids for lunch and had a great experience. Hunter was our bartender and also our server, he was super friendly and attentive throughout. We tried the spicy chicken sandwich, Philly wrap, and a couple of burgers, all of which were fresh and tasty. Drinks (Diet Coke and iced tea) were drinks to accompany. Relaxed atmosphere, good food, and service, definitely a solid lunch spot in town!

We came in with a large party, out server was very nice, she did a good job at getting all our orders and drinks in a timely manner. However, there were two appetizers ordered, one for each table, neither of these came out before the food. Both came out just about the same time as all the meals. I had ordered a classic cheeseburger, the burger was very overcooked, the hamburger was very dry, no juice left, very chewy, good flavor, but way overcooked. I'd rate that cheeseburger at a 6.8 wasn't really impressed with it.
