I have lived in Boyne City for about 9 months and, though I do not eat out much, I ate there for the first time tonight. After some more eating experiences there, I will be able to comment or broadly on the food, but the chicken kabobs with the grilled vegetables were delicious! The chicken was so juicy and had such a good whole chicken taste. The bacon wrapped around the chicken was a very good combination of crisp on the outermost part and still retaining too. The vegetables were fresh and nice large juicy chunks.
Honestly, my favorite part of the experience was that I just kept meeting different staff members and they were really friendly and a fun bunch too!
I met Randi, JT, Matthew, Stephen, Cary, and Cindy. A couple of those were servers who were not even mine, a couple were cooks, I don't know - I just felt like I was part of the crew in terms of the camaraderie.
I think that it will become a place that I go regularly. I could see that with some of the regulars who were there, that staff interacted with them like they were part of the family. I have enjoyed food to varying degrees at a few different restaurants here in Boyne City, but this one for sure felt the most like the small town, hometown place.

I had the best salmon I have ever had - and I have had many salmon dishes. Steve was the chef and Cindy was our waitress. Both were excellent. We will definitely be back. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

We had a very bad experience when we were visiting. We had a party of 6 and one person ordered coffee which arrived 40 minutes later only after we inquired as to where it was. Two people ordered coors light which arrived after the 1st person already had his beer finished. It was so odd. She would deliver one drink at a time. Our food never did arrive and we decided to leave after 1-1/2 hours when we we told they just started cooking our fish and chip and steak orders. The manager was not apologetic at all. She just said to stand out of the way and wait for your bill and stated they were having vomputer issues. Several tables were seated after us and ate and left before we received our food. Very disappointed!

Came in late ordered a chicken bacon ranch pizza w/ bread sticks and fries the guys in back were nice enough to drop me some fries even though they were just closing friers and grill. Food was excellent fries fluffy & crispy, pizza loaded with toppings, and great homemade bread sticks. And the waitress Celia was awesome. 10/10 definitely coming back when I got time for a few beers.

I had a great meal and wonderful service tonight. Celia was delightful! I had the Soup of the Day and grilled Salmon with vegetables. Everything was cooked to perfection! Eat Local, Order the Special!
Despite the law, and despite the fact that I’ve been there hundreds of times over the decades and spent thousands of dollars there, sadly, the newest “manager” there denied us entrance with a legally dressed and identified service animal today. This is a clear case of discrimination against my sister and her service animal, and I am going to file a complaint with the State of Michigan Civil Liberties. Please save yourself the embarrassment and inconvenience of ever attempting to go to the Boyne River Inn with your legal service animals.

Boyne River and is an excellent place to have pizza they have the best pizza I've ever had it's handmade it's made in an pizza oven that was so good and they're reasonable you need to go there if you want great pizza best ever
