My brother and I learned to fly fish from Koz. We had a lot of teaching opportunities during our 8 hours on the Manistee and Koz knew exactly how to cater to our needs. Koz knows the river like the back of his hand (probably better honestly), and represents everything you'd want as a conservationist. He could even identify the species of bug from 40 yards away based on its flight pattern. I won't hesitate for a second when it comes to booking our next trip up there.
Outstanding experience with Brian. We were 4 beginner adults - he perfectly balanced instruction on land vs letting us get the hang of casting in the water. He’s an extremely knowledgeable conservationist and guide. I’d highly recommend him, and look forward to going out again next year!
Koz is King!
My son and I had an amazing experience on the upper Manistee. Absolutely gorgeous and there isn’t a guide that knows more about the river than he. We are Midwest bait-casting bass fishermen and total rookies on the fly rods but Koz was patient, knowledgeable and technical in teaching us to both dry and wet. Hooked into some beautiful trout and had an amazing bucket-list sort of experience. Five out of Five Stars! Highly Recommend!
