We had both a delicious breakfast and a good time at the restaurant today. The decor was funky and the service was great. Our food was easily customized to fit our desire. Our waiter even hand stamped a few more of the little silverware envelopes with ‘bees’ for us to take. We would go back anytime!

We come to Boyne as we have friends that live there. They recommended Sunnyside for breakfast. We have been there three times now.

First, I'll review the food. My family and I have had: the Breakfast Burrito, an omelet, the Breakfast BTA, Traditional Breakfast, and Loaded Breakfast Skillet. All of these items were excellent except the skillet. The skillet had two large pieces of potato that were undercooked, and very little cheese (for the price it was a little disappointing). Their homemade bread is delicious and we bought a loaf even after having the Loaded Breakfast Skillet that was as described above. The only other thing that was noteworthy was the toast has very little butter. I'd normally not mention something like this but toast does not come with some meals that you'd expect and it is pricey if you order a side of it (half the coast of a loaf). Overall, the food is very good.

Second, I'll review the service. We have had three servers. Jamie, Leiel (spelling?), and Sophie (or Sophia, I'm not sure, as she never introduced herself, we looked on the receipt to find her name). Leiel and Jamie are excellent servers as we never had to ask them for anything. They both did a great job. We had to ask Sophie for everything, including coffee refills, bill, and napkins. Hopefully, she is newer and just learning the job. The last thing that I'll say about the service is regarding when we came in yesterday on Labor Day. We waited at the, Please Wait to be Seated Sign for 15 minutes before hearing from anyone. The people were obviously busy but it would seem to be good for business if someone took thirty seconds to make some kind of contact. We watched a foursome leave while we were waiting because no one made contact with them.

Overall a great place to get breakfast if you're in Boyne City.

Decent restaurant. Food was good but nothing inspired. Service was a bit slow but not to the point of frustration. No real complaints. Be sure to bring cash. They don’t take credit cards.

i wanna preface and say that im a cheery bright positive person. i was hungry ate it anyways and paid 22$ for my skillet and bread. take pride in your service and actually have some humanity with your customers. I can see why the flurry of bad reviews. other reviewers are correct. its just cheap Gordon food service diner food at exuberant rates. im not going to get into the rest of the things I heard. but your key to success is professionalism and this place had 0. also upgrade your NASSSSSSTYYYY KITCHEN. put some FRP on the walls, do something, buy a new chinese grill that has handles that actually are on the dials. maybe put some new non char burned deep fryers in that joint. disgusting can't believe I ate that food. lmfao pathetic.

I have never eaten here before. Not many breakfast places in Boyne City. Got a nice table outside. Had an omelette with toast. I have to say it was one of the best omelets I have ever eaten. Most breakfast places you can tell if the eggs are out of carton. That omelette was egg cracked and absolutely delicious. The toast l, from what I could tell, had to be made fresh . It was really good. My coffee cup never went empty and my server was on top of everything. I will definitely be back! Cheers!

I had higher hopes, as the outside looked really cute and unique. Upon walking in, one of the servers called us over to a table from across the restaurant - very odd. She said hi, with no other introduction, and no explanation of the menu (some food item descriptions make zero sense) or their cash only policy. The menu strained my eyes - a simpler, easy to read, less cluttered menu would be more appealing. The majority of the food was bland, eggs were not cooked as requested, and the skillet for $16 was extremely extremely lacking. The toast, hash browns, coffee, and waffles were tasty. They have a rather steep add on $$$ for sides.
Also very frustrating, as someone in the restaurant industry, to watch as one of their servers swept within a few inches of me at the table I was sitting at, while 3/4 of the restaurant was empty. The music was also incredibly loud. Overall, the atmosphere was obnoxious and the servers need to be retaught table presence, regardless of if its 20 minutes after your last seating. I will not be back, nor recommend. I hope that you guys can fix these issues and make this a hot spot in town as we lack other breakfast options.

Just another basic breakfast place that forces you to pay cash only so they can cook the books and then charge you $3 to use their ATM yet they refuse to accept card.

They’d rather be greedy and charge you for ATM fee and inconvenience their patrons.

That ATM fee you charged me took away your employees tip so I hope you pay them more than most places.

ATM transactions don’t cost you $3. You can charge way less to use the ATM so your patrons can pay your tab. Instead you’d rather inconvenience them and make your establishment unnecessarily more expensive.

It is 2025 and there is no reason to not accept cards unless you are cooking the bills to avoid taxes or money laundering.

Note to the feds…?

Just a heads up they take cash only, they have atm on-site. The food was very good. They have a lot of unique breakfast items. Gluten free options available. Their gluten free bread is really good, you can also buy a loaf of you want. Service is friendly but slow. Took a while to get our food, the check, and our cash back.

Just amazing! Food was incredible! We got breakfast and the hashbrown bowl, omelet and the PANCAKES were the best we have ever had without a doubt. Autumn was our server and she went above and beyond!
