Tropical Smoothie Cafe

Ordinarily the service is adequate & the smoothies are blended poorly.
Today a good portion of my smoothie was dumped onto my lap, cloth car interior, steering wheel, and rest of the driver’s area by an overflowing cup with an unsecured lid.
The young man with long hair had poor customer service before dumping my smoothie onto me.

Super friendly staff always for night crew. Few small food issues I sent in a survey for. If handled well then this will be a five star review and will update here.

Worked here less than two weeks. Did all my online training, everything seemed cool night shift was fun got moved to mornings and encountered one of the rudest, unprofessionalism in mangers id ever come across. I showed up three shifts in a row and was left waiting for Taylor to even arrive to let me in. Any questions and learning curves she just couldn't be bothered. The difference how she treated me to what was clearly her friends employees was very night and day. I messed up three orders in two different lunch rushes because when I got backed up and asked for help her only reply with an attitude was looking at cue cards. That's all fine when we aren't busy, but when you got 7 orders in a lunch rush and can't be bothered to even train your staff its very underwhelming. The walk in cooler has no light I been forced to use a flashlight to even try to do my job and the Fifo method. The sanitizer water is supposed to be 70° or luke warm, she copped an attitude when I inquired about what the online training said to hers she would leave it stagnant with cold for hours without changing it. The make line has been without refrigeration and I had to ice down the food to stay fresh. The music on the Bluetooth was always playing loud pop music she had control over nobody could think let alone eat in peace. The worst experience was being told to go on break and hour after I show up while she took multiple while on the job being paid runs to her car sits there hitting a vape pen multiple times a day. I appreciate the opportunity but clearly this manger was picked out of necessity cause she's terrible at her job. I called in my last day 35 minutes ahead of time said I was running behind cause I didn't wanna wait anymore without being paid and she said cool she is behind too and just vomited on the way it. I get there 6:50 and she refuses to teach me prep handed me the make lin packet to figure out myself thankfully I just took a photo for future reference to not annoy her or ask her to do her job. If you don't wanna do your job just don't be a manager your only as good as the trainer and I was a product of her work. Like I just wanted to do my job not attitude like anyone was trying to take the big girls position. Truly one of the most insane experiences I've ever had. I appreciate the opportunity I did have I guess the customers were so nice as well as the other staff. I guess I didn't fit her look for the store. I asked for corporate number or the owners she differs me to they will contact me when it's convenient the owner is on vacation. Good luck MI141 location it's clear why you don't have any consistency and long term customer base at this location. As far as customer service actual reviews If I can make any recommendations I love the Peanut butter paradise smoothie and the all American wraps with Chicken or sausage they are super delicious.

Ps. to use tardiness as an excuse when the one day I was 10 minutes late I gave ample notice and made it there before open. She has made me wait multiple days this entire week for tardiness to open the store no notice till I asked where she was. I'm partially disabled I'm not waiting around for free to stand on my feet with tendon damage. If I'm scheduled for 6:30 or 7 I'd like to clock in at that time not when you feel like showing up to open the store.

Food is way over priced for the small amount given and the morning shift manager with glasses is so rude to customers and staff. The way she treated and talked to the disabled worker was very offensive and nasty. She should be ashamed of herself. She will make you think she would be spitting in the smoothies with any complains she gets against her. I will not be returning.

The young heavyset blonde hair with the glasses girl (morning manager) was extremely rude. Not only does she talk down to her employees, she is also very rude to cutomers. Never go to this location!

Today I saw a disgusting interaction between what I'd assume is the manager (heavy set female) with an employee (new?). She was incredibly disrespectful/condescending toward him, when he asked for clarification on my smoothie. It was truly bizarre. The music at this location is insanely loud. I wont be visiting this location again.

This location not only has quality food but amazing staff! It’s so hard to find people who actually enjoy their jobs now a days. Everytime I’ve stopped here the staff goes above and beyond with their friendliness. The other day I was here at 7am, when most people are exhausted and not excited for a long work day ahead of them. When handed my smoothie I was greeted by staff in good spirits and even had a nice little note on my smoothie! It’s the little things that can set the mood for the rest of the day ?

Delicious food, and choices for smoothies are yummy. However their prices have recently raised significantly. I will be still eating at this restaurant, but not as often.
