I usually like this place. I have had a couple of decent experiences at Joe Kohl’s. Although, the last time I was there, I was a little disappointed. I ordered the potato skins. They are usually enough for me, as I am a light eater. The menu read that they were $10.99. When the wait person brought them out to my table I couldn’t believe what I saw….the tiniest potatoes….about the size of red skins, cut in half with a small dab, each, of cheese and some scallions. They were the smallest potato skins I have ever seen in my life. There were 5 total…. amounting to barely five tiny bites. I was still so hungry. As bad as that was….when the bill arrived, instead of what the menu price was of $10.99….I was charged $11.99. That’s $2.39 for each little half of a red skin sized potato. I am not sure why the menu price did not reflect the price that I was charged. I felt cheated and a little angry. I will post pics of the potatoes and my bill.

We waited an hour and a half for our food to show up. Not coming back
I rarely leave a review, but this place was awful. Ordered a margarita, very mixy tasting. Took 2 bites of margherita pizza, terrible and cold. Service was so freaking slow. After we were done eating, took our server one hour to bring us our check and come back to get our card. Never again!!

Joe kools is a great place, I especially like the bar. The food is good, and there is something for everyone. Great happy hour. They have new bartenders and the service is so much better.

My wife and I came for lunch on a Tuesday. There was no host up front, and we had to wait about 7 minutes to be acknowledged and seated. I ordered the fish and chips, my wife the cob salad with potato skins as an appetizer. We planned to split the meals. The wait to get our food from the kitchen was just too long. At one point, our waitress, Alissa, stopped by to apologize. Finally we got our food. I read a previous review highlighting how good the fish and chips were here. I must have come on a bad day. The fish was falling apart and slimy. I am told that is a sign of frying oil not hot enough or too old. Or the frying was rushed since our food was late. I am not sure, but we did not enjoy it. The salad and potato skins were pretty good. Alissa's service was good. I may come back again to try the fish and chips again. Hopefully, that will be a better fish day.
UPDATE: I came back about a month later. Was sat immediately. I ordered fish and chips. It took over 20 minutes to get my food, but I admit it was a busy football day. The fish was cooked perfectly, just like in the pictures. Also, i found out the fries can be ordered without seasoning. I prefer them that way, and they were tasty. ? service was attentive. I updated my rating to 4 stars.
