Cafe Italiano at The Sweet Shop

Pizza was good, sandwiches were good, cherry phosphate was great, decor is adorable. Staff didn’t seem like they wanted to be there, but it was mid-afternoon on a Saturday and the whole downtown is dead because all the streets are torn out.

I just love this place. Any time we are nearby we stop in. It’s a wee taste of Italy in Michigan.

We’ve had gelato, cannoli and sandwiches here which were great! Today we had a pizza and we were impressed by the amount of toppings and delicious flavor! Can’t wait to try the pasta. Service is always great. Downtown Buchanan is a mess with road construction right now so businesses are suffering. Come to town and support this and all businesses. It’s worth the hassle of detours and having to walk a little to get there!

I went here with my elderly mother and my daughter, we didn’t end up trying the food as the man that waited on us was quit rude. We chose this place as it looked cute and the food smelled good, the owner seemed like a nice person but the wait staff was rude- had to be asked to show us a menu and when he got one for us he tossed it at my mother and walked off with out a word. We ended up leaving without ordering- we were trying to have a nice outing for Mother’s Day weekend, such a shame.

The pizza was awesome, we went in 10 mins before they closed and the guy still took our order, he was very nice and sociable, the Italian man made us feel very welcomed. I will definitely be going back, not only for the awesome pizza but for the atmosphere and conversations

Love love love this place. Good eats! sandwiches are top-notch, try their pasta tonight delicious. I’ve had their pizza also very good. I’ve had their coffee in the morning. I’ve had your Italian cream soda, their gelato’s and spumoni. It’s a good thing I know where good food is! once I find you, you got a customer for life!
