Came here with a party bus for my birthday. Would not recommend coming here with a big group for a tasting lol. They weren’t serving food, the guy working seemed irritated more than anything. The wine was good, but the vibes definitely weren’t there. I would only recommend if you wanted to come for a quiet place to sit and do a tasting.

Overall disappointed. Reserved a table for the 2nd night of the Wild Game event as a celebratory night out with my partner. Saved up for what we knew would be a splurge night. Booked a hotel nearby so we could enjoy some drinks without having to worry about traveling. Waitress was polite, but seemed pretty over it all. It was a bit of a wait to initially get greeted but we ordered each of the signature drinks and the alligator ravioli to start. After those arrived, she then informed us the buffalo and the ostrich, our entree picks, were already sold out. Understandable that they'd be the most popular items on the menu because they'd be what we considered the most "wild," but no less disappointing because frankly we were very interested in anything else on offer. The app was alligator ravioli. It was ok, but it could've been listed as just cheese ravioli and we wouldn't have known the difference. I decided on the pheasant and my partner got the wild boar stew. The pheasant was okay, just underwhelming and dry. He liked the boar stew, just again underwhelmed. The signature cocktails were quite good. I was excited to see an old fashioned on the spirit list... I strongly recommend avoiding this. Maybe I'm not grasping the "zero-proof" definition (assumed it was the make), but I received a large glass with a large ice ball, a cherry, and an orange slice sitting in a shot of whiskey. We had intended on going home with a couple bottles of wine and getting dessert, but the whole experience was just kind of blah. It was good enough for just doing something different, but I wouldn't go back or recommend it. It just didn't seem like they were ready for the turn out.

New Year’s Eve 2024 was my first experience at Tabor Hill Restaurant.

The drive to this area is delightful during the day. However, our trek to the venue on New Year’s Eve was a bit of a challenge on a moonless, cold, rainy, winter night, down slick backroads with no lighting.

We arrived to a beautiful property, expecting an excellent dining experience. The complementary glass of wine was a nice touch.

The room in which we had dinner was cozy with a wonderful fireplace. Although the tables were nice, there were too many in the room. They were not at full capacity, so removing a few tables for a bit more elbow room was doable. It also would have been nice to have a place to hang our coats.

Our server was friendly, but was not very attentive. We observed her visiting the tables all around us, but we had to flag her down multiple times for water refills, steak sauce (they had none), and crackers to have with our soup (they had none). The wait was so long for a response about the crackers that we sent the (cold) soup back, untouched.

Bread was ordered for the table. When the manager brought the bread out, he walked right up to the table, but did not put it down. Instead he turned on his heels and went over to a display case that had crashed to the ground moments earlier, and began having a conversation with two workers directly over our uncovered bread.

When the bread was finally delivered to the table, the manager asked if there was a problem (not “is everything okay” or “is there anything else that you need”). There was not “a” problem, there were several. The service had been mediocre at best, and both he and our server were behaving as though they were tolerating us as opposed to appreciating our business by treating us with care.

The lobster ravioli was delicious as well as the meat on the beef for two platter (the brussels sprouts and potatoes were not good at all).

Our New Year’s Eve dinner at Tabor Hill was disappointing at best.

Do better.

My partner and I made a reservation for November 7th a month in advance, so Oct 7th he called and made the reservation. We took the day off work to have dinner together at TaborHill, which we’ve never been to before. So we get a call on November 7th the day of our reservation from TaborHill saying that they are winterizing their pipes and they would be closed for the day. This is so unprofessional to call day of especially since we made the reservation so far in advance. We weren’t even offered a compensation for our next visit! Winterizing pipes is definitely something the restaurant knew of in advance. If they called and told us a week ago or even a couple days ago this would be a different story and I wouldn’t even be writing this review. But the day of our reservation you decided to let us know??? Very unprofessional.

An excellent place for dine dining. Great selections of appetizers. The wines are fantastic. The desserts are amazing. You have a view of the vineyard through the dining room windows. Ample parking for everyone. Every dish that was served to our party was well presented and delicious. We enjoyed the wines from the vineyard and had a good time toasting our friendships. A truly amazing experience for wine lovers in the area

Walkability: We walked over from round barn and then back. The route through a woods and then the vineyard , is not clearly marked. Several of the signs have arrows going towards both of the path options with no wording to describe where it leads to. We ended up on a road and had to walk back to the round barn entrance. Better signage is definitely needed.

Food and drinks: The wine, beer and snacks were good. We sat in the vineyard seating as the dining room and upper patio were closed.
They did eventually open the upper level patio and guest were seated there.
Unfortunately no one came out to ask if we needed anything. We would have had another beverage.

Noteworthy details: We visited in October on a Thursday. It was definitely off season but there was a steady flow of guest in the late afternoon.
One hostess at the entrance desk was responsible for greeting guest and serving all drinks and limited food/snacks. She was not overly friendly. There was only one way in and out to the only seating (outdoor, lower level near vineyards) and that was not clear or close by, especially carting drinks and food.
We paid $95 for three beverages and three snacks. ?.

My husband and I were wanting a winery with a restaurant within the area with a full menu at sunset and Tabor Hill checked all that box. Glad we gave it a try. I had mistakenly reserved for 7 pm and we got there at 5:30. The host was very pleasant and accommodating and seated us right away. It wasn’t busy at that time.

Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. We sat at the patio and enjoyed the beautiful scenery with our wine. My husband got the Syrah and I the Gewürtztraminer. I loved mine because it was a little sweet just like how I like my wine.

For starters, we ordered the Chef’s Charcuterie! Everything in it was perfect! Couldn’t finish the cheese wedges because there was plenty of it.

We went with the Dinner for Two on a Thursday night. My husband got the Top Sirloin, medium-rare. He said he really liked it, but it was more on the medium side. Mine was a Berkshire Pork Chop. In my opinion, it was under seasoned, but it was perfectly succulent. Loved the blueberry chutney that came with it. From the menu, it said it came with roasted potatoes and broccolini, but I got mashed potatoes and mixed veggies instead. We didn’t get a heads-up about it either. But it was still very enjoyable!

We finished the evening with a caramel cheesecake that my husband and my daughter truly enjoyed! Overall, we would love to come back again next time we are in the area and maybe do the wine tasting as well.

Quite honestly, the service was terrible. We had a reservation for 8 people. There were two large groups that came after us and they were served before us. The waitress was not communicating and checking in as much as she should. She also was a bit snappy with her response. We would ask for something and she would reply with a dull “sure”. The restrooms also needed some cleaning it smelled like an outhouse in there.
Although I can’t say it was all negative. The food tasted good and very nice location.

Tabor Hill was a great place to spend some time. The restaurant looked quite nice, but I just stuck with the wine tasting. The tasting was generous and the bartender was very friendly and professional. The wine selection was fairly extensive, and the quality was excellent. The dry albariño wine was excellent, but their sparkling Grand Mark was possibly my favorite. At more than 50 years old, Tabor Hill definitely seems to have their stuff figured out, and it’s definitely a good experience.

I have dined at Tabor HIll Winery and Restaurant the last 5 summers and up until last week, had been very happy with the food. Unfortunately, our last experience on Friday, August 23 was not good. The Menu had been completely changed apparently a few weeks ago-and not for the better.

The menu is now very limited on choices for dinner and some of the menu items, were items you should see on a lunch menu- not a restaurant of this caliper- such as a chicken wrap and hamburger sliders, given there were not many entrees to choose from as it was. My favorite prior dish, which was Trout with a lemon picatta sauce, was no longer available. We wound up choosing a chicken dish with raspberry sauce which was not good.!The chicken was overcooked- the coating was dark, rather than golden brown and the flavor was very bland. We were so disappointed!

Perhaps there is a a new chef that was not as good as the prior one. The manager, however was great and took care of the issue for us by crediting our meal which we did not eat. It was just so disappointing as I always looked forward to going to Tabor HIll Restaurant in the past during my summer vacations and whenever I was in the area.

My feeling is that unless, Tabor Hill WInery revamps their menu again, we will not be back.

For the price you pay bread should be offered with dinner not something you pay for if you want it. Menu could be bigger not many choices what we ordered tasted good service was ok. It was very warm inside the restaurant for it being summer not that comfortable. I don't agree with Service fees added to your check putting it on the consumer.

Josh from Tabor Hill was very personable and delightful to talk to. He was very knowledgeable about wines and where they came from. I couldn’t ask for a better experience, thanks to Josh I will be coming back.

We had a wonderful experience. My only gripe was that the whipped cream for the lemon blueberry cake, which was delicious, was of the canned variety. To be top shelf, which Tabor Hill is, the whipped cream must be real whipped cream. Not out of an aerosol can.
We visited Tabor Hill again, and my gripe is the same. Whipped cream out of an aerosol can is unacceptable in a restaurant of this caliber. It is not difficult to make real whipped cream, and it elevates your desserts to be commensurate with the rest of your menu.
