Updated 8/2025: we're back in business at Chicos! Food is top notch, staff is friendly, and the new green salsa is awesome. Today I got the KISS burrito and it was amazing. Chorizo was spicy and not greasy, chicken was perfectly cooked and seasoned and the queso sauce was the perfect compliment. We'll be back a lot sooner than my last review from a few years ago.
Old review: Not what it used to be. Chico used to strain the beef until all the fat was out, he'd then season it and add it to the burritos. Now it tastes like the beef is just browned and added, no straining, no spicing. The salsa is still good, the prices are still decent, but something feels not quite the same.

A dozen plain beef soft tacos was $60. Yes, $5 a piece and they’re small and bland. No fancy ingredients - beef-like filler, cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes on a soft shell. Plain taco.
I try it every 5 years or so and every time I’m reminded why I don’t go.

Fresh ingredients, high quality food and a great menu. 10/10 will come again
My first time going and man was it good!! I had the burrito and queso dip! I got it to go and it was hot and fast. I also got my husband a burrito for lunch the next day and it was just as good warmed up. I will be back!
My fish tacos were supposed to have pineapple salsa but didnt . They did have jalapeño seeds in the pico that they did put on it, so it burned my mouth. Very dry and very bland. Never going there again.
I’m perplexed why this restaurant has a 4 star average. Food was very bland and the portion size was quite small. The shredded chicken taco I had tasted like nothing; I’ve never had a Mexican restaurant taco that tasted like nothing. Quesadilla was bite sized. Mexican rice tasted like a microwave Uncle Ben’s package; dry and bland. The pico had jalapeño seeds in it. That was pretty much the only flavor the meal had.
I saw one review calling this the best Mexican restaurant in town… it’s not even the best Mexican restaurant in West Cadillac.
I’m going to Taco Bell now to go get some more authentic Mexican food. Seriously. That bad.

Hadn't been here in about 10 years. Food still has the same great flavor as when Chico was there. They had 3 options for salsa, sweet, hot and hotter but you have to ask for the hottest salsa. The prices are reasonable. We both got the Jr. wet burrito, could've taken some home but it tasted so good we at it all. We split a side of Mexican rice; it was good too. Lots of options on the menu. Our waitress Alexia was super friendly, did a great job. Will definitely be coming back on a regular basis.

I used to love this place, but I'm afraid they saw my last dollar. $14.55 for a carryout junior wet burrito, and then being prompted to tip is a bit greedy. Chips and Salsa were always complimentary when you dine in, but apparently they're not included when you carryout.
Got charged for fries even though we asked to change it,the homemade “salsa” was more like ketchup -.- my crab and shrimp quesadillas was imitation crab and shredded cheese and I was sad :( I was excited but my inner Mexican was disappointed the only good thing was the jarritos 😔
Worst food ever. Homemade salsa??? Was like spicy ketchup. They heated all of our food up in the microwave. Heard the ding every time.
My tacos were like reheated Taco Bell after it sat in fridge for a day or two. The steak from the carne asada tacos looked gray and was like rubber. Service was AWFUL. After they dropped off our food and came back to check on us…she took half the food back with her and proceeding on laughing with the while kitchen about the tacos she served.
I’ve been in the industry for way too long. This place was a complete tragedy of a “Mexican” restaurant. More like MEXICAN’T!!!
Do not waste your time or money.
You’ll be happier with old El Paso or Toxic Bell tacos.
HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND.
No photos because the service was fast and the food was so good we ate it. Service was excellent, Kevin was on his A game. It is a small dining room, and our group of 7 and two 2 tops were getting undivided attention. The carry out bell rang a few times also. All food was delicious but especially the Mexican corn. Oh and the homemade chips and salsas!! Delicious.I hope our travels bring us here again one day. Thank you.
