My Aunties and I visited Detroit recently and my cousin suggest we go to Black Rock Bar & Grill. We enjoyed the atmosphere and service. The food was awesome. I actually got to cook my steak on a 750 degree volcanic Rock from Australia. Hopefully they will come to Houston.

This place is friendly and accommodating. It was our first time visiting a Black Rock Bar & Grill. The waitress explained everything very well. I have a gluten sensitivity and a dairy allergy. They were very accommodating and cooked my green beans in oil instead of butter. My husband ordered a full slab of ribs and I ordered the 25 oz sirloin steak, which was very tender, and shared. The ribs had great flavor. We can’t wait to go back!Dietary restrictions: They have several gluten free items. have a gluten sensitivity and a dairy allergy. They were very accommodating and cooked my green beans in oil instead of butter.

When there for my son's birthday. They were out of ribs and couldn't make Asian stir fry!!! They don't have food on menus stay away!!!!

Good food. Wish the service was tad bit faster. We came here for a birthday. Last year they did something, this year they are only giving a coupon for next time...rather dissapointing for kids...will celebrate elsewhere in the future.

We were at the Canton location - the service was VERY slow and the restaurant was not very busy. Our person was lovely, friendly, and all, just very slow. I'm guessing they are under-staffed. The food was pretty good. We all had steak - it seems like there is no seasoning so the salt and pepper mills at the table were put to good use. The shrimp skewers came with a good dose of seasoning. The Mac n cheese as ok at best. The shrimp scampi had a strong garlic and pepper flavor - some liked it and some did not. Apparently this location is family owned and not the company owned locations as was explained when someone ordered the Creamed Corn and was told they've never had that at this location and that it shouldn't even be on the menu because they do not serve it. (Sorry, I forgot photos!)
Kinda pricey but was decent food would be very easy to be $50 a person to eat and have a adult

I went into Black rock on Sunday, which is St. Patrick’s Day. I got in around 8:30 PM. The atmosphere was great. It wasn’t busy at all, and we were seated within five minutes. The waitress took our drink order and came back with the drinks. She then took our food order, and I ordered an alcoholic beverage. While we’re waiting for the food to come out, I never received my alcoholic beverage at all. I didn’t say anything, because our waitress was inattentive. The food was not the best, and I don’t want to complain about the service. At this time it is approaching 9:30 PM, and the restaurant is basically empty. We had to catch our waitress just to get a refill, and we had to notify a staff member to find her to check us out. The Customer Service was really disappointing and I love going to Black rock. After my experience, I cannot sit down and enjoy a meal at this facility.

My salad came out after my food. Our drinks did not get refilled. Charges appeared on our bill we did not order. One item we ordered and did not receive was on the bill and when we asked either for the item to go or take it off the bill the waitress replied with "seriously" as she stormed away. My steak knife was dull as a butter knife and when I told her she just said I'll tell the manager but did not take the knife or offer me a new one. My steak was so tough to cut even after I borrowed my friends knife. Will never go back.

Went to this location on Valentine's Day to partake from a nice 3 course deal. Everything went wrong as soon as we were seated. We were placed in a patio area that was not heated very well, but we could live with it. Once the service started, everything got worse. It took quite awhile until my wife got the Pepsi she ordered. The appetizer came out not long after, which was the pretzel bites which were decent. Next came the soup and salad. My wife got a Caesar salad which had a hair in it and my clam chowder was very runny. We soldiered on, however. The steaks were brought out and the rocks they were cooking on were not as hot as usual. My wife had a sirloin which was really fatty and tough to cook and the bake potato was like a rock. She couldn't even get her fork in it. When my alerted our server about the steak and baked potato he took it away and came back with a bill that was more than the deal that we asked for! We had to ask for a manager because there was no way we were paying more than the deal for unsatisfactory food. The service was slow and the food was bad. It really put a damper on a night that I wanted somewhat special. Do not go to the Canton location!
