We live about an hr away but everytime we are in the area we stop for some delicious Carvel. We have even just took the drive just for the ice cream. I grew up in NY and we always had Carvel so it is nice to be able to have it now living I'm Mi. Worth the trip!!!
Delicious and quick
Placed an order for an ice cream cake for my son's 5th birthday and was not disappointed. The decoration of the cake was everything I asked for. It was ready for when I requested it to be picked up. The staff was very friendly and accommodating of my questions. Couldn't be more satisfied, will definitely be back!
We took our kids to Carvel expecting a fun treat, but the experience was ruined by terrible service and poor cleanliness. The man and younger girls working behind the counter were shockingly rude and unfriendly, staring awkwardly at us as if even the simplest order was confusing. No smiles, no warmth—just a “deer in the headlights” vibe that made the whole interaction uncomfortable. On top of that, the shop itself was dirty, which made us question how sanitary anything was. Between the unfriendly staff and the unclean environment, we won’t be back.
I came with my family to get ice cream. I haven’t had Carvel in years. My nephew fell and we asked for ice. The staff were so rude. The older gentleman gave us a disrespectful look and facial expression. He mentioned in a rude way to get it from next door and we don’t have any. There was no compassion. I would recommend to owner to get new staff that are respectful of all cultures and communities. I would also recommend to anyone in Canton to avoid. It is not worth it. We will never be going back. They lost a family of customers.
Carvel usually never disappoints, however this visit I am kinda shocked. The staff was NOT helpful at all! The ice cream was poorly prepared, let's just say we ended up going to Dairy Queen down the street.
We went on a Wednesday night at 8pm and they had NO ice cream. They were completely out of soft serve and the ice cream case had 3 flavors left. This is crazy for a place that is open until 11pm. It was extremely disappointing as we are from out of town and excited to eat it.
Please train employees on proper practices to keep the ice cream running and have good customer service because it was truly lacking. They did not even say 1 word as they just stared at us…. Some members of my family couldn’t even get any ice cream. DO BETTER. Years ago service was so much better. This was horrible.
We wanted to treat the kids to ice cream and decided to try some place new. When we went in, the girls were not helpful at all. They were rude. My ice cream had some sort of ice chips in it, which only indicated the the ice cream was no doubt freezer burnt. The cones were also very stale. Will be the last time I spend my money there
Awful customer service. The guy on the register was rude.
The listing says it’s open until 11:00pm. I’m here at 10:21pm and the place is closed. Such a disappointment.

The cakes are excellent and the ice cream is good, but the young adults who work there will close the store early if they decide to, sometimes as early as 9 or 9:30
Says open till 11pm but we drive 30 minutes from Ferndale and got here at 10pm and lights are off and doors are locked.
Overpriced for bland ice cream and a stale cone
I absolutely love this place, not only because the custard ice cream is amazing, but because the owner is truly a good person who looks out for his customers!!
P.s. I'd high recommended the strawberry cheesecake 😋
Ice cream was fair but didn’t match the value of the higher cost and shop seemed very clean however the gentleman taking care of us had a rude tone and could work on his customer service responses.
