Wife and I stopped in we each had a patty melt and an order of onion rings to split. Onion rings were a disappointment as they were more like Onion SKINS. They were the green, tough outer layers of the onion.
Have heard about the Rusty Nail before, but never in the area. We were camping nearby and couldn't find anything open on a Monday. Did a Google search . . . And Rusty Nail showed up. Not busy. Had great fresh made onion rings to share and soup/salad bar. Ham/corn chowder was excellent! Definitely go back.
This is a very popular place for myself and my father. We like to drive around and eat at random places, and any time we go near I127 we hit the Rusty Nail. Dine in, take out, doesn't matter. I personally recommend the burgers. We found this place during the shut down, so it was only take out. The burgers were nice to sit in the car and eat, and we were on our merry way.
