This review is one that has been a long time coming. I am more upset with the establishment and how it has been run overall than anything else. My fiancé and I frequent Charlevoix often and always come here. I got married up in Charlevoix August of this year. July 2021, a year and one month before my wedding, my fiancé and I drove 4 hours upnorth and met with the general manager of the establishment Jaime. We agreed upon renting the third floor for our rehearsal dinner, as well as agreed upon a menu. Jaime told me we were all set and would talk closer to the date. Fast forward to January of 2022, I reached out just to check on things. I talked with a man named Bryan who told me the restaurant was unfortunately under new management, but that my accomodations would nonetheless still be honored. Bryan told me I could no longer have the third floor, but I could have the second floor - as there was a charge now that Jaime was not going to charge me while she was under management. Bryan assured me everything would be all set for my wedding in August (7 months away). I decided because of the events that already took place that I would check in AGAIN with the establishment closer to our wedding. After multiple calls, I finally got ahold of the manager who stated Bryan no longer worked there and that they had no record of my accomodations. I sent Larah my email chains with Bryan now 3 months out from my wedding. Larah explained the establishment would be permanently closing soon due to staffing issues (which I can see did not happen). There was no place available at that point in time to have my rehearsal dinner at. I am overall frustrated with my experience with this establishment and its (numerous) owners. It was an unfortunate event to be happening to someone who made sure to plan everything out accordingly with ample time. We will not be going back!

The burgers were unevenly cooked ranging from raw to overdone in 1 bite. Drink glasses must not be cleaned daily because a yummy dead fly was found in the cocktail.

The food was decent, the restaurant was clean. The waitress wasn't friendly. She actually made a gagging face when asked about some food options. She wouldn't let us split our bill because we had more than 6 people. She never asked us how our food was. Anyone that came in the door was told it was an hour wait. Also our bill had 20% gratuity added to it. I'm glad I saw that before I tipped her anything more.

Don’t eat here unless your desperate. Food was super meh. I ordered the poe boy, it was recommended by the waitress and it had 4 pieces of shrimp on it. I counted. I didn’t even complain not worth it. Then my wife ordered the French dip sandwich and the overloaded with waaaay to much meat to even eat. Please don’t make the mistake we did. We only went there because black market was closed. Go somewhere else

Stopped in for our first time all summer but didn’t stay not full but they told us honestly there would be a wait because the other boy server was also tending bar. Hostess should have pitched to help. Amm no pity because it’s a cute place land great location.

Very overpriced for what you get and of the 4 of us 3 got burnt food. I have the EPT dip, which would have been good if it had not been so burnt I couldn't eat most of it. 4oz glass of SeaGlass Pinot Noir was $9, a bit much. My sister got a $15 BLT. Now for $15 you would expect it to be piled high - nope. Never will return, the food is not and way over priced. Also the sweet potato fries that you pay $4 extra for are awful.

Enjoyed the sidewalk tables for an evening beer & dinner. Busy place with attentive waiters. BooBoo Blonde Ale was excellent. Thanks for a pleasant evening!

We have been here in the past, not this summer. Listened to Larah talk about people who act like tyrants at her business on Michigan radio, including what she tells her staff, "you are servers, not servants!" We have seen this at a few restaurants locally, sorry to know they have gotten up north, too. How sad, but she has given all of us a great reminder. We agree 100%

One of my favorite restaurants in town. Great food, good people and nice ambiance.

Fantastic Your business deserves many thanks. You respect your employees. By closing down due to unruly patrons you're showing the rest of the community that this behavior won't be tolerated. It's time for people to wake up to what civilization is all about. These past few years has shown too much of the ugly and those who think they're entitled. Congratulations

Owner claims "short-staffing" and rude customers, but the bottom line is the staff treats customers like crap and provide terrible service and don't want accountability. When we were there, multiple servers were milling around, ignoring tables, chatting amongst themselves. Terrible service, terrible attitudes for friendly visitors.

The tavern burger was great, and the fries are the best, each one was perfect. They seemed pretty understaffed, but everyone was nice!

Went here for dinner with eight Friends and Family. The place is right in the middle of downtown Charlevoix directly across from the city Marina. There is no mistaking the fact that this is a Tavern - the menu is filled with burgers, wraps, a reuben, pastrami, clam chowder, salads and blackened salmon along with a steak or two. The service was great - the waiter had our drinks out in five minutes and the order from the kitchen was on target - every dish was correct. The place was homey and cozy, and the staff was full of smiles. Dealing witha rowdy group of 8 can be a challenge but there was ample table space for us all, and we left feeling like we had been well taken care of. I doubt this will ever be on Michelin's list but it serves good food in a great location. Hard to beat that.

We stopped in for a beer and snack. We enjoyed the cold beer and pretzel bread while sitting at the bar. It was our 3rd time we stopped in while in town. The bread was good but wish they served 4 instead of 3.
