The wallet battered had absolutely no flavor whatsoever salt no pepper nothing. The crabcake had no crab in it. Maybe there were some ground crab, not chunks of crab. It was complete bullshit. I had a Gina tonic tonic was flat as can be so I asked to replace it with a vodka on the rocks which they did but they charge me for it anyways. Pay with a credit card and there’s a 3% service charge for the credit card.
Prime rib special for the win.
Great restaurant with Incredible food. Disappointing that there is no website with online menu.
Best beef stroganoff I’ve ever had!
First, the hostess directed us toward a table that I did not want to sit at— when I asked if we could be moved to another table, she said they were anticipating big parties and had to leave those tables open (this did not materialize). The waiter was relatively attentive at first, the food was just acceptable— all in all I certainly wouldn’t go back
The place has a cute vibe and the servers are wonderful … but the food is god awful. Wilted lettuce. Old meat. Chips from the bag. Stale bread. Macaroni that’s obviously from a box. I had diarrhea immediately after the burger. They need a new chef.
Excellent service, very bad food, The burger is the worst I've ever tasted.
Not a beginners restaurant, and definitely a place an experienced chef can enjoy whilst visiting from out-of-town. Classic turn-of-the-20th century feel. A nod to the sea-farer and charter captains of classical navigation. We stepped in for lunch and the harty grilled gouda had a perfect pan toast. (scratch scratch scratch). We returned for dinner after a drive up to the general store. My partner ordered the prime-rib medium-rare, and in good taste brought it home directly to the kitchen. He used a blade to feather about 6 oz. which he served in a mushroom flour gravy with tagliatelle pasta. Their prime rib preparation left no critiques to be had. Thank you!
Keep in mind that we were here in the ofF season. In peak season you may experience a wait.
Lunch was so good we came back for dinner. The wait staff for both meals were friendly and attentive.
For lunch, I had hot wings and my companion had the Gouda grilled cheese. We both had the fries. The wings were good and the fries were perfectly crispy. The grilled cheese had a great toast on it and the cheese was melted properly.
For dinner I had the prime rib special and my companion had the before Alfredo. The prime rib was perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked. The au jus was properly seasoned and not overly salty. This was the best prime rib I've had in a while. My companion said that the veggies and pasta were perfectly to the bite.
This is a great find! And totally by accident. I highly recommend stopping in for a bite if you find yourself in Charlevoix Michigan.
Very attractive dining room. Decent service. Very nice wine list. Food - Meh. Walleye was nicely done, but carrots were undercooked - hard to cut thru. Seafood pasta flavorless. Fortunately, salt, pepper & lots of lemon wedges on our plates to do a reasonable fix. I shouldn't have to fix dishes in restaurants at this price point. Taste, chef, taste!

Situated near the waterways in a two story building. Second Story plays a band that is free to listen to. Price is towards the upper and higher menu prices for restaurants. This is my first time here and the band was playing good.

Three of us had a wonderful time at this restaurant. Having no experience with restaurants in Charlevoix, we walked around to find a nice place to celebrate our son's birthday. The restaurant was not busy, so volume was not an issue as another reviewer had mentioned. We were greeted and seated promptly at the front window, and served immediately. The view very nice with lights in the nearby tree and the harbor across the street. Son had the prime rib with walleye special with yummy sides. Husband had the chicken marsala, and I the walleye. Son was very pleased; prime rib cooked to perfection! Husband wasn't in love with his entree: It was prepared differently than a traditional marsala -- served in a bowl with noodles and chunks of chicken but not enough for his liking. My walleye was amazing! A large piece of walleye very lightly breaded, served "vertically" with mashed potatoes and whole cooked carrots. A super nice evening with great service. Recommend!
