Stafford's Weathervane Restaurant

Celebrating my birthday. I had the beef stroganoff from the bar menu. Delicious. Loved the flavor of the sauce. My husband had the whitefish. He said it was excellent. We had tiramisu for dessert. It was also excellent. And our server Johnny was was very good!

New Year's Eve dinner was fantastic. Limited menu with a variety of good options. Brenda our server was friendly and provided great service. All of the food items were delicious.

We could not finish the food, and became ill after eating. The skirt steak was gray and the salmon smelled so bad we had to lean away from the table. Each were around $50. Service was the only upside.

We had Thanksgiving dinner. The green beans in the fresh green bean casserole were almost raw and too hard to eat. The dressing was nontraditional and disappointing. Seafood bisque was great as was the bread pudding.

Great atmosphere! Quiet and low-lighting make it an intimate place to relax and enjoy the diverse selection of dishes. You can enjoy a meal for anywhere from $15 to $50, depending on what your budget allows. A savory selection of cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages to choose from. My favorite place to visit every time I'm in Charlevoix!
Reservations are not always necessary, depending on how busy they are. If it's summertime, or there's an event in town, you may want to call ahead.

We had a nice dinner there and although the menu is a bit sparse when tourist season ends, the meals are still prepared professionally and with the utmost quality and attention to detail. Our server was fantastic and knowledgeable and suggested things that we ended up liking very much. Table faced the drawbridge and water, great view.

I have never had a bad meal from here, until tonight. In fact, of the five meals our group ordered, 4 were intolerable. The strip steak was incredibly salty, the salmon was fishy and the sauce did nothing to help it, the gnocchi was bland at best, and the whitefish was the worst of all of them. Again, never had a bad meal, but it seems like there were a couple of things going wrong here. There was a new menu, not the one posted a month ago, but one with a grand total of 5 entrees. I'm not sure that the chef knew how to cook any of it. The second part was that it was either being renovated or about to be renovated, based on the construction materials in the front parking lot. Maybe it's new ownership, maybe it was just our food, but 4 out of 5 bad dishes speak loudly.

We have gone here 1 or 2 times a year, but for now, we will not be returning.

Our first time here and we were very happy with everything! Brenda was incredible! There was not one bite that was anything but amazing!! Can not wait to go back! We had the calamari, squash soup, root vegetable salad, blue cheese wedge salad, salmon and gnocchi and lemon pepper whitefish. Recommend the unshackled Cabernet!! Perfect experience!!!

New Fall menu - Skirt Steak was HUGE and delicious. Caesar salad was great. Whitefish and Wedge salad were delicious. Glad to have talented chef in kitchen, and Brenda is a great waitress. we will be back.

Our server, Brenda did a great job. My mother in law and I had a great visit and never felt rushed. We shared a bottle of wine, the Brie and calamari appetizers, then we each had a bowl of delicious squash bisque. For entrees we ordered salads and neither of us could each much of those as we were pleasantly full. I had the wedge and would definitely have that again. Next time In Charlevoix will choose this establishment to dine at.

Waited a while to be served for lunch. Food was just ok - chicken was dry.

We have dined at the Weathervane for some 30 years. The new changes in the menu in the last year were hard to take but the food is still delicious! The hostess and our waiter were very accommodating. Looking forward to the new deck next year!!

The Clam Chowder is outstanding !!

The Weathervane is looking a bit dated. We ordered the Lobster Roll. For the price I expected more. I should not be charged to upgrade chips to fries. It was not served with a salad or Cole slaw. The brioche bun was dry and not good. It was disappointing.
