We went in January and had no wait on a Saturday! Adorable decor. Delicious crepes (we had the sweet strawberry crepe and the savory bacon egg and swiss crepe, soo good!) and well-made croissants. The lattes were balanced and featured house-made syrups. Pairs nicely with a visit to the book store next door 😊

Adorable French bakery. Everything we tried was excellent! My son loves macrons and gave their macrons one quadrillion stars!

It was early on a Sunday in October. The town was calm, dreamy, still pretty much asleep except for a few of us that seemed to take turns arriving at That French Place like clockwork one by one to make the difficult decision of which crepe or pastry 🥮 🥐 to choose. Greeted by a lovely woman, who talked me through the sweet and savory choices and I settled on the cinnamon roll and then went back in again for a breakfast crepe to save for later on the comfy bus ride to Traverse City. I was so happy That French Place was open before the bus came to the station. It was the perfect ending to a short story stay in Charlevoix. Seek it out when you go even if you are taking the ferry or the coach bus; stop in and meet lovely people and taste French pastries and crepes.

Winter hours are in effect. Closes at 1pm. Just incase you want to drive 5hrs envisioning the first bite of the best creep youll ever eat just to be 8 minutes late. My fault. Great place. Friendly staff. Long hungry ride home lololol.

Yummmm! Breton-style buckwheat crepe with ham, egg, and Swiss hit the spot. Owners are friendly and get their French cuisine ideas through travel research. Charlevoix is that French town with That French Place.

Best quiche we’ve ever tasted. And the cinnamon roll was divine. Also had the bacon egg and Swiss crepe and it was equally amazing. Definitely worth a stop here. The owners are very friendly and the food is perfect.

That French Place is a charming little café with warm, welcoming staff that immediately make you feel at home. The chai latte was perfectly spiced and comforting, while the Ted Lasso shortbread added a playful and tasty touch. A fun detail: their iced coffee comes with coffee ice cubes — no watered-down drinks here! The only drawback was the coffee itself, a darker French roast that wasn’t a hit with our group. Still, for atmosphere, friendliness, and unique touches, this café is worth a stop.

Their chocolate cake, made with sourdough starter, is a 12/10 solidly! Redefines extraordinary. Their cookies, also super solid.
Oh my lanta! Soooo good! Caramel apple crepe - 🤤 delicious. Coffee iced cubes in the iced coffee is a touch of love!
This place is extraordinary. The best croissants and interesting French pastries I have ever had. And Charlevoix is a nice little town on Lake Michigan.
