Great salad bar and staff. The staff were a bit overworked but extremely friendly, patient and helpful. I got a burger and the salad bar. There was a lot to choose from on the salad bar. I would have really liked to have had oil and vinegar as an option for a dressing but there were plenty of others to choose from.

Big boy has been a favorite for my kids.. until recently. We went today, thank god I was feeding my 2 year old bc there was a large piece of metal in her jello! When I brought it to the waitress attention she said “let me go get my manager he won’t believe me unless he sees it” when she got him he laughed.. I’m confused what’s funny. He was rude, didn’t seem to care of how bad that outcome could’ve been, no apology. Nothing. And the waitress “yeah I’m sorry that’s how he is”.. so Patty I know you’re the “big boss” but do better. I understand accidents happen, but Make it right next time 🤦🏼♀️
I won’t even go into detail about how dirty and nasty this place was, we won’t be back unfortunately.
Had the breakfast buffet. food was hot and good. server was polite. no complaints. Standard big boy.

I meet with about a dozen friends once a week for breakfast and we have noticed that the maintenance and condition of the dining area has gotten worse and worse. The lighting is very poor, with many lights out or very dim. Some of the booths have holes in the seats and/or back rests with layers of duct tape covering up the holes. In the men's restroom, the paper towel dispenser above the sinks has been broken wide open for months, with a roll of paper toweling just sitting out in the open. I do not know what it looks like in the ladies bathroom or the kitchen, but as a Charlotte resident of over 50 years, I have been in most all of the other restaurants in town and am very pleased with the lighting, maintenance and cleanliness of them all and proud to recommend any of them to others. But this one is disgusting, the waitresses have been great, the one we liked best just quit because of these problems and went to work for a nicer restaurant in Marshall, what a loss, she was the best! Please don't be penny wise and dollar foolish!

We came to have a family breakfast. When we first came in nobody greeted us. We had got sat and had to ask someone to wait on us (waited 20 mins for a server). Waitress had told us nobody even told her she was sat in her section. We would ask questions and would get sly remarks back. The women working there were rude. Restaurant was not busy or cleaned. We will never go back to this location.

Very Disappointed – Will Not Return
I recently visited the Big Boy in Charlotte, MI and had a very unpleasant experience. The restaurant was extremely messy, and the salad bar was dirty and did not look safe to eat from. There appeared to be a lot of cross-contamination between the food items, which is a serious health concern.
I also ordered the broccoli soup, but it was spoiled and completely inedible. When I mentioned this to the cashier, she didn’t apologize or even offer to take it off the bill, which I found very unprofessional.
On top of that, I ordered four adult meals but wanted an item from the kids’ menu (Bosco sticks). A different waitress came back to tell me I couldn’t order a kids’ meal because I didn’t have a child with me. Then she said the manager would “allow” me to have the $6.99 kids’ meal for $8.99 just because I didn’t have kids with me. That made absolutely no sense and felt like I was being taken advantage of.
Overall, the restaurant was not clean, the food quality was poor, and the customer service was lacking. If the dining area looks this bad, I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like. I will not be returning.

The Big Boy legacy has never recouped it's glory but thank goodness for great management and service from the leader of Big Boy in Charlotte. She was quick to make sure our food was hot and fresh . During her table visit she smiled and we felt welcomed. The entire experience was fantastic thanks to the General Manager ( I think she was the manager as hard as she was working) Natasha. She made my family feel like it was a marvelous experience!! We will give BIG BOY A chance again thanks to Natasha!
