So after noticing that I wasn't going to be waited on, I went to the front desk to pay for apple juice. She told me to not worry about it. Then I left. I don't believe this was an oversight. I don't know why I keep going expecting anything else but mediocre. The best thing was the kids eat free. My Slim Jim was gross and dry but the new waffle fries were good. The service was great.

Surprisingly good. I had a breakfast that was above par with a crispy waffle and crisp bacon that didn't drape over my hand. Other Big Boy restaurants could take a refresher from this restaurant. This particular location was @ Garfield and M-59.

I've cruised by this refurbished local Big Boy restaurant with curb appeal many times in 2024. Their new sign with information posted states, Come Back & Dine-In! So on Sunday March 24, I decided to check out the remodeled interior and menu for dinner. Some of the lobby decor is still standing like the Big Boy Statue, Claw Game and those coin machines called gumball and candy. The restaurant has new tables and chairs along with comfy booths to enjoy a filling meal such as a breakfast, lunch or dinner. This Big Boy is still known for the Brawny Lad, Patty Melt. They're known for their Breakfast Buffet on weekends, Salad Bar weekly and previously ended this weekend was their famous Seafood Buffet On Friday's during Lent. To Refresh your Mind and History: Big Boy is the American Restaurant Chain going back to 1936 when it started in Glendale, CA. called Bob's Pantry, then Bob's Drive-in then currently Big Boy. The 1st Double decker Burger was introduced in 1937 along with the Big Boy Statue outside the building. He's holding a double decker burger to catch one's eye and to make customers stop in for a hunger fix! This location has a New Menu with several food and drink items to try. A New Burger called the Best Cheeseburger On The Planet which I enjoyed (Cleaned My Plate) and posted a photo naturally... No bites till I snap a picture is My Yelp motto. Waffle Fries are on the menu now along with their hand cut french fries, but I opt out since I craved Onion Rings and My photo tells all on the Crispy and thick taste of them!! :-) New Sandwiches: Bob's Hot Chicken, Turkey Reuben, The Dolly Chicken, New Breakfast: Philly Cheesesteak Scramble, Works Scramble, Mushroom Swiss Scramble to name the newest. New Appetizers on their menu are Pretzel bites and Pizza rolls which I will definitely come back to indulge My taste buds! New Dinner Menu Items: Loaded Mac & Cheese, Deli Style Hot Turkey Plate. To wash down all the new food entrees, a Big Boy customer needs a New Drink: Shakes, Malts, Ice-Cream Floats, Mango Iced Tea. Here's the scoop on My Drink: I totally enjoyed the New Strawberry Shortcake Shake and My photo attached tells all. OMG Deeeelicious especially the crunchy chunky strawberry shortcake pieces up through their new angled designer straw. I tasted just like the Good Humor ice-cream treat on a stick at the truck or buy at Meijer Grocery Store. High Fives & What a Awesome Mix Creation by My server "Ryann." I watched her and listened to the mixer machine make it since I sat nearby the Ice-cream counter. Thank You Ryann for great service and the chef's at the grill. I enjoyed my dinner and drink. I observed the other 4 waitress staff with speedy service and pleasant personalities as well, so great teamwork here! New Desserts: Strawberry Cream Puff, Reese's Peanut Butter Blondie (so I'll be back to try) They still serve slices of pies or buy them to go!
