I’ve been a regular customer at this Dairy Queen for a long time, always ordering the same thing—a plain cone in a cup with double cherry dip on the side. Today, I was met with a completely different response from a young woman behind the counter, who claimed they “don’t do that here.”

When I mentioned that I’ve ordered this here multiple times, she gave me a blank stare and replied, “Here?…” as if I was confused about where I was. I matched her tone and said, “Yes. Here.” She then insisted, “My manager doesn’t allow that. It’s store policy. We don’t even have a button for that!”

Excuse me? If there’s a button for double cherry dip on a regular cone, couldn’t you just enter that and accommodate a simple adjustment since I ordered in person? It’s not complicated—especially since I’ve had this order many times before. I live right down the street and have always come here, but after this experience, I’ll be taking my business elsewhere, even if it means going out of my way. Extremely disappointing customer service—and in my opinion, pure laziness.

And judging by the other reviews, this isn’t just a one-off bad experience. It’s clear that customer service here is lacking, cleanliness is questionable, and food handling isn’t being taken seriously. I’ve also noticed that the owner responds to negative reviews by referring to customers as “fans.” I’m not sure what’s more frustrating—the dismissive service or the strange attempt to spin unhappy customers as loyal supporters. If you want people to be true fans of your business, maybe start by actually providing decent service.

The guys working the counter was just there. Alot of drivers waiting for the online orders. I asked the guy at the counter to order a pecan mude slide even though it was no longer on the menu, without hesitation he said no, they can't do it which I couldn't understand seeing that they still carry all the ingredients. I ended up ordering a banna split to go. I was handed my small bag with the banna split in the bag sideways. The ice cream was stuck to the top as well as the toppings. I understand that they were busy, but who puts a banna split sideways in a bag and serves it. I'm not usually a complainer, but I think more training needs to happen with the employees and service. Thanks

Blizzards were sitting by the time I came to the window. Mostly soup than ice cream. I can understand Saturday evening can be busy but I would rather wait several minutes and get ice cream that is solid

Quick, efficient and polite, best DQ IN Macomb County!

Everything was awesome!

They were slammed packed. Lots of people working. Not allowed to have even soufflé cup worth of chocolate dip. Portioned-properly, perfectly coated bites of ice cream is where it's at - was disappointed.

Was there about 20 minutes waiting for my food to be prepared. Watched them take an order of cheese curds that had been sitting out before I arrived. Re drop them, and pit them in a bag for me. I was given a refund after I told them I don’t want old food that was re dropped. Also, during the time I was waiting for my food I watched the cashier handle money and then help prepare food without washing his hands or wearing gloves. Will not come back to this location.

Very rude staff. They made me wait at least 10 minutes without direct eye contact or verbal instructions even though they claim they told me drive through only 😂. Then got mad at me when I was annoyed. Clowns 🤡 . I’ll drive out of my way when I want some DQ to a different potentially farther DQ because this one sucks.

This Dairy Queen location was a huge disappointment and a major food safety concern. I visited on March 25th around 7:30 PM and ordered a Blizzard and two burgers. Almost immediately, I canceled the burgers after seeing the cook wearing black gloves, handling raw burger patties, placing them on the grill, and then using the same gloves to grab the burger buns. That’s a clear case of cross-contamination and completely unacceptable.

If that wasn’t bad enough, another employee was eating fries straight from the bin where they keep the cooked fries. On top of these disgusting food safety violations, the store itself was an embarrassing mess—dirty, unorganized, and clearly not well-maintained.

I tried to do the right thing and called Dairy Queen corporate, expecting them to address this. But just like every other time I’ve reached out about issues (mostly rampant food mistakes at other locations), I never got a single call back—not even once, even when my order was severely wrong. That’s beyond frustrating, especially as someone who goes through the drive-thru often with my family.

The owner of this location should be embarrassed that a customer had to escalate this issue and still never got a response. It’s clear that food safety and customer service are not priorities here. If they can’t even be bothered to follow up when serious health risks are reported, I can only imagine what goes on when no one is watching.

Avoid this place until they get their act together.

Everytime I want to online order and use my rewards, online ordering is turned off. I successfully ordered online 1 time.

When a place known for their ice cream out does all of the major burger chains with their own burger...you know you're in for a treat.
