Avoid this place. It used to be fairly decent, but it has gone down hill significantly. Went back after a year, hoping to see improvements from my last dismal visit. Unfortunately, it has only gotten worse. No breakfast bar on this Sunday, no potato cakes, no biscuits. Bacon was over cooked and cold (even the replacement we asked got was), toast was stale and so cold the butter wouldn't even melt, the pancakes looked and tasted like cardboard, eggs tasted microwaved, hash browns were barely cooked... I could keep going. Even the coffee tasted old and burnt. This is the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant like this. I used to like coming here, but now I will probably never go back.

I went there on November 1 2025 I was super disappointed it was my birthday and I order food the chicken tenders where not there same as they normally are and my watier didn't inform me that that there was no deep fried pickles if she would of I would of changed my order instead when the food came to table I was like where's my pickles oh we submitted it with pretzel bites because we are out well don't you think you should of told me that before I could have changed my order its was just super disappointing the watier was not on top of everything like normally I mean it was not busy at all when I was there or I would of understood but the service absolutely sucked on this day I even told them and instead of trying to make it right they just said sorry.

Big thanks to Trevor and the Saturday morning crew for a wonderful Big Boy experience here in Cheboygan. The breakfast buffet was a HIT for me and my entire huge family. Our thanks for keeping the bar hot, fresh, and filled. Wonderful chocolate shake. The most friendly & incredible service. Lots of meat! My dad says the bacon was cooked to perfection. Yummy time here in Northern Michigan <3

We were there on Tuesday 9/16/25, there was 4 of us all adults. First thing was it was so cold in the restaurant that my wife had to go out and get a jacket to put on The restaurant was in very bad condition, the men's restroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned in days, went to sit down at our booth thought I was going to the floor, just terrible. The server came took our order, when we got our food 3 of the 4 orders were wrong, wife ordered swiss miss with swiss cheese and mayo, had no swiss cheese on a swiss miss, daughter ordered big boy with just mayo got everything but mayo,they took it backed scraped it off brought it back still no mayo. Son order patty melt, bread was not toasted bread was black like put on a dirty grill. Then came the bill 2 additional condiments charge of .50 each for mayo, are you kidding me ,said something but she did not adjust the bill. Also server said the cook messed up order, not her, very unprofessional. I will never go to this restaurant again ,also my wife was sick the next day probably from the food. The owner really needs to do something about, possibly bulldoze the building rebuild and hire good people to work there.

We really miss the Big Boy restaurants from our past. When we travel east we always look for them. We have found most of the restaurants really needing deep cleaning and updating. This one is no exception. When we pulled into the parking lot the restaurant appeared closed and under construction. There was a white piece of paper on the front door and one door was blocked by children's highchairs.
We found the other door open and we had lunch. We had a great and attentive server. The food was ok.
We hope the big boy restaurants can turn it around.

I grew up in Cheboygan and have been a regular customer at Cheboygan Big Boy for the last 40 years of my life since i was a little girl. I have lots of memories there growing up spending holidays at Big Boy and time with living and lost family members.Tonight my family and I came into Big Boy between 5:30 and 6:30 pm. Tuesdays kids eat for free usually the service, quality of the food, time spent waiting is hit or miss but not tonight, We lucked out and got in our favorite waitress Gloria's section who always gives us great service.I gave her a hard time about the soup of chorse cause I was a former cook but the Fresh deep fried cod made up for it and when I spoke to the manager Jackie about it she explained again like Gloria that I could have fresh soup brought out to me from the kitchen which pleased me to know but Jackie as a manager there is doing a fabulous job there along with the ones we know by name and face who have served us our meals throughout the years like Gloria. I usually don't order fish because I am a former cook myself and make it at home so good why buy out but it was definitely worth it a huge plate of Fresh hot flaky cod I will definitely be coming back into Big Boy more often under this evening management thankyou Big Boy of Cheboygan for the experience of dining in.
Vegetarian options: My daughter is a 9 year old vegetarian and she enjoys the cheese quesadia off thr kids menu, the salad bar, and the shakes we usually fill up before dessert but the dessert menu is great too
