For those of you that don’t know, the head “ chef, Michael Walter’s “ at this establishment was recently brought up on 16 counts of child molestation, under the age of 13, look him up it’s all over the news. If that’s not horrible enough it was agents his daughter dating back years !! He was thrown in the Cheboygan County Jail to await trial. The owner of the Chateau, Paul Jahn decided it was a good idea to bail him out of the Cheboygan County Jail for $75,000 cash bond “ public record “ so he could come back to work and still prepare your food. BUT, Michael was placed on an electronic tether and was instructed by MSP and the prosecutor to stay away from his daughter and to have no contact with children. So, what did Paul the owner do ? Allowed him to live at the Chateau in one of the hotel rooms and continued to pay him his salary. Not sure about any of you guys but I will definitely not be supporting an establishment like this, shame on all parties, sickening !!!

My family and I come to the eagles nest all the time. It’s our favorite restaurant. But we recently booked the event room for our wedding and when I tell you that it was the absolute best night of our lives, I mean it to the fullest. We fell in love with the space immediately and I could not put our deposit down faster. We didn’t even have to decorate, that’s how beautiful it was. The view is just incredible, we even changed our ceremony to be held there instead because it was absolutely everything we wanted. We did the buffet style wedding and it was probably the best food I’ve ever eaten in my life. DO NOT underestimate that broccoli Alfredo or the “roast beef” which arguably I would say was prime rib if no one told me different. Everything down to the last detail was just absolutely amazing. The service was so accommodating. Emily was in charge and I swear anytime I turned around she was right there ready to help (she even offered to hold the train on my dress when I was tripping on it!) both of our servers were so kind and it was even more special when our favorite server was one of our wedding servers. I honestly could not have had a better night. We also got the wedding suite for two nights and again BEAUTIFUL. The price was completely affordable and we plan on using this for any event we plan ever again. Absolutely outstanding!!!

I would travel from the south of Ohio to eat at this restaurant again and I'm planning to very soon. I had the walleye the last time I was there and it was huge. I noticed they've got venison chili so I may try that next time.

The room was a retro 70s, very noisy, could hear everything in the adjoining room, people talking in the hallway, and dishes being moved on carts in the hallway, there was a big gap under the door I had to put a blanket across to supress the noise. The room had ( 1) to open receptacle that could be used, the other available one I couldn't plug anything into because it was too far in the wall to be of any use. The cabinet next to the TV stand was leaning down unscrewed so nothing could be put on it in fear of falling. The ceiling fan globe was crooked and about to fall off, I tightened the screws so it would not fall off only to find the blades were also loose which caused the fan to wobble so didn't use it in fear of falling apart. I would not recommend spending $120 on a room here, way overpriced for a 1970 s throw back room with poorly maintained roomsRooms: Very poor maintenance and outdated, bad value for the $120 price, I will not return and don't recommend it.Food & drinks: The toaster didn't work in the breakfast area. Cold cereal for Breakfast.
