This is now called the Black River bar. It's no longer the pines and the new owners have done a great job in taking this place over the pizza was awesome.
Limited menu. Burgers, pizza, and a coney dog. Beer was cold.
Definitely looks older inside, so if you like bars with that older style vibe it's a great place, I had their pizza and I loved it. I also got to meet the new owner Paul Paad. My father and I had a nice conversation with him and he is a great guy, very friendly and he has great plans for renovating the restaurant, even mentioned adding a (non- official) sized indoor Cornhole room. Definitely a great place to hangout.
My uncle buck Ballard built the place in the depression...so glad the new owners have embraced that....the pizza I ordered was excellent and the service was great !!! Would recommend this to anyone!!! Thank you Robin for the service and Paul for taking the time to talk to us !!!
Has changed hands, now Black River Bar. Still great food and drinks. Light atmosphere, great staff, and friendly hangout

I just had a take-out fish dinner and it was every bit as good as eating in!! Highly recommend it!
This is the best little bar north of the 45 parallel! The staff is friendly and the owner is a fun friendly special guy! If you have an opportunity be sure to visit The Pines. Order a pizza, grilled cheese sandwich or just settle in with a gold one and enjoy!

Had the wing special on monday nights, they were great! Also tried the nacho supreme and wet burrito which were really good as well
small place, music sucks ( besides fort he live bands) and menu is limited n expensive for basic selection . needs a drastic update but the waitresses were very nice and I could tell their limited staff were trying hard to be helpful and efficient
