Secrets On Main Bed & Breakfast

The name makes it sound like a couples retreat...and it is definitely ideal for that! But a group of friends like we had can also enjoy staying here (I wouldn't recommend families with kids as there are far too many breakable items, even I was concerned about moving in some areas).
Ann and Mark are the BEST hosts you will ever meet. Their main concern was that everyone was comfortable and had everything they needed. The rooms have fun and unexpected themes (the shower is where in the room and has a watering can as a shower head?! So fun). The house itself is full of history and comfort. Every time I walked down the stairs or entered a room I found something new that I had missed. It was fun that the anniversary group was always impeccably dressed and the rest of us had jeans and sweatshirts...yet we all mingled well together and had great conversations thanks to Ann mingling our interests. And breakfast with our housemates was amazing; we all wanted Ann's recipes for clotted cream and blueberry jam. Mark, you noticed that every plate of food you presented came back empty?

A huge thank you to Ann who perfectly prepared a High Tea and allowed us to celebrate my daughter’s bridal tea shower in her beautiful home and Bed and Breakfast, Secrets On Main. Ann is kind, thoughtful and such a pleasure to work with. Her home is beautifully decorated with such lovely detail and was the perfect setting for a bridal tea shower. She allowed us to customize the menu and chose special linens. She made suggestions for types and flavors of tea for each course and even provided fun tea etiquette. The food Ann prepared was delicious and decorated with attention to detail. The shower was perfect, exactly what my daughter envisioned and each guest thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I would highly recommend working with Ann for any special occasion at Secrets on Main or attending one of her afternoon teas.

We had such a wonderful stay at Secrets on Main! We stayed in the Double Bubble Room and loved the fun vintage décor. Our private bathroom was spacious and conveniently right next door to the room, and having our own balcony was such a treat. We also appreciated the extra touches like access to Netflix and Amazon Prime.

Breakfast was absolutely delicious—Ann’s homemade strawberry jelly was my favorite! 🍓 The house itself has so many charming spaces, but the covered porch quickly became our favorite spot to relax and read.

It’s really the small details that made this a 5-star stay: homemade cookies, beautifully set breakfast tables, soft towels, cozy beds and pillows, and the gorgeous quilts on each bed. We also loved the convenience of having cold water and fridge space nearby for leftovers. And everything was spotless!

Mark and Ann are truly wonderful hosts who go above and beyond to make sure guests feel at home. We can’t wait to come back—this is definitely a place we’d stay again and again!

We stayed here during labor day weekend. The rooms were beautiful, the beds were comfy, and the breakfasts were to die for. Highly recommend. I'm looking forward to our next stay!

Excellent place to stay. So much history in this place. Hosts Ann & Mark offered so much hospitality and were very accommodating. Homemade breakfast were delicious. Mark grinds his own coffee and is a very talented wood worker with items on display and available for purchase. We were very lucky to have met some wonderful guests and enjoyed a few drinks on the porch. If you are planning a trip near Cheboygan or Mackinac area, we highly recommend staying here.

We enjoyed our short stay here. The rooms are very clean the host are extremely nice people and easy to get along with. Truly accommodating to their guest needs which we appreciate it.
The house is extremely unique and the fact that it's pre-1900 with lots of wonderful decor.
Every room has a different theme and it's own unique way and that was fun.
The breakfast everyday was well above par definitely thought out and present nicely. Plus they made accommodations for food allergies which is a huge deal.
I'd highly recommend anybody to stay there and I hope that we get a chance to go back.

This was our 1st bed and breakfast and it was great! Ann and Mark are very hospitable and very accommodating. The house is great with alot of history and it's close to a lot of things. Bed was very comfy, would definitely recommend and stay here again.

What a wonderful place to rest your head. A uniquely themed victorian B&B. It is ideally located for easy access to many of the core businesses in town, which is wonderful.

Mark and Ann, the new owners, are fantastic hosts. They provided great suggestions for things we should do on our overnight in Cheboygan. Very thoughtful ensuring we were comfortable.

Well, where do I even start?! I have stayed in many many hotels and b&b’s both in the States and back home in England and I can honestly say this has been the very best experience and the best place I’ve ever stayed, period!!!
The attention to detail, the comfort of the beds, the personal little touches, the homemade breakfasts including homemade muffins, jams etc., cookies to die for, little jars and bowls of sweets everywhere to help yourself to, the art and wood crafts made by the owners for you to buy if you’d like, the chats and conversations……I could go on and on and on!!!
But truly, the best thing for me….Ann and Mark are just the most wonderful people and hosts you could ever wish for!! And now my hubby and I count them as friends. They not only will go out of the way to help you with anything you need but they are truly two of the nicest people I’ve ever been blessed to meet and I was truly sad to leave. We’ve even offered for them to come stay with us if they ever come to visit England!! They will go above and beyond with their thoughtfulness and care. Ann even can to give us a ride back ‘home’ when we got caught in a downpour after watching a music recital in the beautiful little town of Chiboygan, which is a true treasure and gem by the way.
So I say get yourself to beautiful Cheboygan and don’t bother looking for anywhere else to stay other than Secrets in Main!! Even though I’d really love it to remain a secret so that it’s not fully booked when I wanna return!!!
Truly though, go stay a while. You will enter as guests but leave as friend ❤️🥰❤️🥰

Such a wonderful stay! Ann and Mark leave no detail undone; and they are so kind and accommodating. The rooms are unique and comfortable. Homemade cookies and breakfast were delicious. The 4 person Surrey quadracycle was an extra fun perk. We definitely want to return someday and stay longer when we can enjoy the space even more. Mark's woodworking and Ann's art are beautiful as well. Pleasant little treasure!!

Delightfully friendly and attentive couple runs this B&B. Huge assortment of teas available. Quirky old house, hot tub, short walk to downtown restaurants.

Was an extremely pleasant stay. The hosts were very inviting and awesome. The rooms were very nice. The breakfast was delicious and served family style. The house is lovely, but I didn't take many pictures unfortunately.

Stayed overnight with the new owners and enjoyed the hospitality, breakfast and creativity of the bed and breakfast right in the heart of Cheboygan. I would highly recommend staying there.
