The patty of the basic burger doesn't disappoint but isn't exceptional. However, the toppings do stand out with generous thick-cut dill pickle slices delicately arranged. Also, the fries have elements of Belgian style with crisp exterior enclosing light, tender interior. Very tasty. Soda fountain would benefit from Pepsi Zero on-tap.

I wasn't blown away by it like so many of the previous reviews described. We asked for no mushrooms on half the pizza, that didn't happen. Didn't get a refill. The couple behind us walked out after waiting something like 45 minutes for their Pizza. The pizza itself was good and so were the kids meals.

The staff was friendly and courteous. The environment was clean and well kept. The pizza was very good. We were a group of 15, and they accommodated our group and still provided timely service to our party. This was our 1st experience and it won't be our last.

Once upon a time, in the charming little town of Chelsea (the home of Jeff Daniels and Howdy Holmes), there was a lovely pizzeria called Thompson's. A fairy godmother must have founded this establishment in 1970 because it's only improved in the last 54 years. The staff here is attentive, capable and friendly. Guests are always greeted with a smile and almost immediate service, and many of the guests are obviously "locals," a good indicator of quality. The food, all of it, is absolutely delicious - their pizza rivals any in the state and possibly, the whole USA - their beer and cocktail selections are extensive - and, finally, their deep-fried mushrooms are beyond compare. Honestly, we've never, ever had mushrooms as scrumptious as these. Firm and fresh, and individually hand-dipped in homemade batter, there aren't enough superlatives for these little gems. Even though it's some distance from our home, there are two excellent medical clinics in Chelsea, and my husband and I always book our appointments at the clinics around lunch time. As soon we're done, we make our way to Thompson's and order mushrooms - and more mushrooms. A delightful, scrupulously clean dining room, easy to get to from I-94, and plenty of free parking, Thompson's is a great place to bring your kids, your friends, your workmates, your date, or your grandma. Let Thompson's fairy godmother wave her magic wand over you - and don't forget the mushrooms!

Great pizza, Cobb salad, and kids' menu. Many couples and families. Several sports on TVs, but no sound or music = great atmosphere for sharing delicious food with loved ones. Will definitely be coming here again whenever near Chelsea.

The food is delicious not real happy about the food handlers taking money then with the same gloves handle my food or yours maby this will help change policy with food handlers maby hire a cashier that dose not touch food but there own.
