I used to be a frequent customer at East Ocean, but after my visit today, I was very disappointed. The recipes have clearly changed and the flavor is not the same — the fried rice was just plain white rice with soy sauce. It seems the restaurant may have changed ownership, as the original couple’s Facebook page is gone and all previous posts have been deleted. Unfortunately, the quality of the food has gone downhill significantly. I’ll be looking for a new favorite Chinese restaurant.

We frequently visit this restaurant and are always waited on quickly and with a smile. The food is hot and delicious and the prices are affordable. Another perk is that the bathrooms are always clean and stocked. I recommend visiting here for a great meal in a quiet, cozy atmosphere.

Great food, slowest restaurant I’ve been to in my life. Over an hour to get food with only 2 tables occupied in the restaurant
Ordered MooShoo, Sweet&Sour Chicken, and PadThai. The MooShoo was fine.
Sweet&Sour Chicken was worse than KFC quality. Small pieces of chicken hiding in a clump of breading and grease pouring out when you bite in. Not good. 😐
PadThai was remarkably flavorless. The most prominent flavor would have been the cooking oil if not for the lime I squeezed, which was shocking because the dish was visually amazing and cooked correctly.
One hit out of three... I'll not be back.
The owners run a very good business and has a good quality of standards. 10/10 would recommend
Good food
East Ocean absolutely blew me away with their Singapore rice noodles. I ordered mine with just shrimp and noodles, medium spice—and they nailed it perfectly. The shrimp were juicy and fresh, the noodles were packed with bold curry flavor, and the spice level had just the right kick without overwhelming the dish. What also made the experience shine was the incredible customer service. The staff was warm, attentive, and made sure my custom order was spot-on. You can tell they care about quality and customer happiness from start to finish❤️❤️❤️ 17/10 would recommend this amazing place to everyone.
We've lived in Ortonville for three years and somehow just discovered East Ocean tonight and wow, we were really impressed. Service was prompt and friendly and the food was absolutely delicious, fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. All the dishes we ordered were a little different to the normal in this area and we loved it. We can't believe it took us this long to find it, but we’re so glad we finally did. Highly recommend but expect something a little different but better than
local competitors.
