Everything was amazing!! I love coming here but lately there has been way too many kids upstairs… especially on the weekends and after 6 is crazy work. Made it very difficult to play pool and darts. Kids kept coming up in the middle of our pool game trying to play their own game. Hard to enjoy music we qued with out parents giving dirty looks and kids screaming over it. If this continues I may decide to go elsewhere…

Sadly, not up to previous experiences. Something, some “magic” has been lost. Plus, my Mac n cheese was almost cold in the middle - not good for such a famous dish. Stick a thermometer in it before serving

We went there on Sunday for dinner, sat down at 4:45. Surprisingly they weren't busy at all. Maybe 6 tables were taken in the whole place? We didnt know who our server was until he brought us waters about 10-12 minutes after sitting there. While looking over the menu, I realized we weren't given kid menus (kids meals were not displayed on regular menus) So I just was thinking they dont have kids meals for some reason (Hostess didnt mention they were out of kids menus as she sat us. Weird but ok). By the time we placed our order, the food came really quick. So quick in fact it doesn't make sense how all of our food was cold. I thought maybe our food was made and sat there while the pizza cooked, but no. Every item was cold cold. Like, im wondering if the warmers would even pass the danger zone temp guidelines. Im not one to complain about food temp often, but it just didnt make sense. Also, my $17 dollar sweet potato burrito was the biggest let down. It was served with a quarter cup white rice. Its definitely not what I remember it being 10+ years or so ago when we used to dine in often. The brisket my boyfriend ordered was also cold and dry. We ate our food with out complaining simply for the fact it was our first meal since 9am and we were starving. We were in the area to have photos taken so we decided to stop in as we no longer live near there. It was a disappointing $60 down the drain and honestly I dont ever see myself going back.

Food was 10/10. LOVED the food. Service was horrible. Our waitress never told us her name, was unfriendly, and very slow. We could see her just standing behind the bar after we had to flag her down for many things. It stinks when service can really make or break a place, especially when the food was so good. Also music was very loud and I’m only 26 years old so not just me being a nag.

I did write an email and give the business a chance to respond, but they didn’t.

10/18/2025 at approximately 9pm.

After such an enjoyable experience upstairs for a couple of hours, we wanted to take our friend who was visiting Clarkston to the main bar downstairs for one last drink before heading out.

While handing out beers to our party of three, my wife accidentally spilled about a third to half of a beer on me and the floor behind our bar seats. We asked for towels to clean it up but didn’t receive any. When we cashed out, staff had already started cleaning the floor, but the bartender tossed a towel at us and told us to clean it up — which we had already offered to do earlier.

Jamie’s demeanor and attitude were surprisingly off-putting, leaving all of us taken back. It takes a lot for me to write an email in regards to the hospitality industry, but this interaction felt completely uncalled for. I even double-checked the receipt to make sure the issue wasn’t related to tipping — it was 30%. I understand everyone has an off day, but this was far from professional, especially after what had otherwise been a great experience upstairs.

Disappointing dining experience. Looked like a great local restaurant to eat at while we were visiting from out of town and was not impressed. They put us at a high top table initially which was too small for two people and the all the sauces and drinks. The pop was flat and they just gave me another flat pop. The service was slooooow. When we asked for another minute to decide on our order, instead of asking if we had any questions about the menu, the waiter just disappeared for an excessive amount of time. We asked to switch tables and got a new waiter who was slightly better initially but not seen again after placing our order. Food was very meh. Cheese curds were good but odd that they came with marinara sauce. I had the cherry pulled pork salad which was weird. It is a clump of hot pulled pork on top of a cold salad. I separated my meal in to salad on one side and pork on the other. The salad was yummy. The pork was dry and difficult to eat. My wife had the pulled chicken which was also dry. The Mac N cheese was awful. It was really garlicky and almost no cheese. Should have been advertised as garlic noodles because that is what they were. Corn bread was dry. And the sides are all starches, even the seasonal vegetables. And there was a box full of sauces with no names on them so you didn't know what they were.

We were excited to check this place out. Sadly, they were out of burnt ends, Mac and Cheese, brisket and Red Bull. One question: how is it possible for a barbecue place to be out of all of this on a Sunday at 5:30?

Before this week we have ate here many times and have never had a bad meal. If this had been my first visit, I probably wouldn’t go back. I will give them one more chance, but we drive way too far and spend way too much money for what we received.
It started with them being out of brisket, and three out of four of us had ordered it and so we all had to choose something else. Kinda strange because they had just opened at 4:00 and we ordered around 6:30-6:45.
Of the food we got, the Mac n cheese, woodsticks, pork belly burnt ends, pulled pork and pulled chicken were really good. However, both servings of potato salad comtained hard, basically uncooked potatoes and the baby back ribs had many small bone fragments in/on them. It was sadly, very underwhelming.

Ordered brisket. Meat was less than warm, certainly not the wood-smoked flavor I was expecting. One of the sides was missing, and when the waitress tried to get it they were out of the side. This was at 8pm. Will not be returning.

The owner of our Airbnb recommended Union Woodshop for dinner and drinks before a concert and we're glad he did! The mac and cheese was to die for! Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and fun! We will come back when we're in that area!
