I’ve been to renshaws many times and had great experiences. However, yesterday was a different experience. There wasn’t a host at the front and my friends and I saw others seating themselves, so we did the same.
We sat there and waited 20 minutes without being greeted or served. The waitress who waited ALL the tables passed us many times seeing that we were there because we saw that she looked our way quickly but passed us serving and checking other tables that she had just visited.
Another staff worker came up to us (very nice) and told us that this specific waitress - as she pointed at her- was our waitress and that she’d take our orders shortly.
I called for her once and she quickly hurried off. Finally, my friend flagged her down and he asked her for help. She said that she wasn’t our waitress and that someone else was and she would start our orders anyway. She started our orders ( 2 mystery shots and one shot of any beer in a shot glass) and the waitress she sent came back with the two shots but said that the waitress who took our order didn’t know what I wanted.
The one who took care of us after (Lexi) was so sweet. But I don’t know what the other waitress issue was with us. It was super unprofessional. If she had an issue because we sat down in her area she should’ve told us and we would have gladly moved! She was busy but the way she treated us was unacceptable.
We had her table because we were in HER section. She chose not to serve us (that is fine) but she could have assigned someone else or just asked us to go to another table because she was busy/overwhelmed instead of us having to wait 20 minutes and then had to flag her down.

An average dive bar, nothing extremely special. Smells like sweaty beer and balls though. I ordered a Sam Adams cherry beer and they put maraschino cherries at the bottom of it… 5 to be exact- ruined my beer. They do have a picture of Rupaul serving diva by the bathroom so they get an extra star for that

I visited the bar with old college friends back in August and was pleased with the service, so I recommended it when another friend and I wanted to go out recently. We visited 11/8 and the experience was DRASTICALLY different. Overly crowded. Very noisy. Difficult to talk. People around us were obnoxious and screaming, probably from being overly served. Waitress was quick to visit the table the first time, but then brought us the wrong drinks. After getting us our correct drinks, she never checked on us again. We didn’t even see her to be able to flag her down. Over an hour later, we asked for the bill and then had to wait another 20 minutes to be checked out. We would have ordered more drinks and food if we weren’t ignored. Will not be returning.

Decent place to go! Food is ok. Drinks are drinking. Service is alright on the weekdays but better on weekends. Lots of different deals throughout the week! Always fun to go with a group of people.

I’ve loved this place for years and have been a regular, but lately I’ve noticed a disturbing trend. Multiple waitresses are bussing dirty glasses by grabbing them on the rim, then serving clean drinks the exact same way—without handwashing in between. It’s such a basic rule in food service: never touch the rim where customers sip. Yet this has become common practice, and I’ve actually gotten sick multiple times after visiting.
It’s incredibly disappointing to see this happening more often at a place I’ve always enjoyed. Management (who I have confidence in) needs to immediately retrain staff on proper hygiene before this becomes a full-blown health code violation. This is a systemic problem here, not just a few isolated incidents. I'd love to come back in a few weeks, see improvement, and change this to a 5 star review.
