We just had lunch at The Trainwreck Grill and Ale House on our way home to Columbus Ohio after vacationing in Manistee. Wonderful find, awesome atmosphere and delicious food. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Highly recommend this gem!
Amazing food. Great friendly staff.
Well worth a stop or 2 to eat here.
Had lunch with my wife at Trainwreck today. Everything was great! Not just good, but great. Food that you are happy to eat. She had a side salad with fresh vegetables and had the chicken skewers, which I tried, that were marinated and grilled to juicy tender perfection! I had the patty melt, which was one of the best I’ve ever had. Thick burger patty with some pink just like I ordered, thick melted slices of cheddar and Swiss, perfectly carmelized onions, a delicious thousand island dressing, (not a cheap, overly vinegary thousand island like so many places serve), and amazing dill pickles (which I had added to my patty melt), all on fresh grilled sourdough bread, not dry and crumbly or over toasted sourdough either! The French fries are thick but fried perfectly and well seasoned, try them with their version of yum yum sauce, it’s amazing! The restaurant is a very nicely renovated former granary, it was clean, and we were told they have an upstairs and event area additionally on the lower level. The menus had a lot of great choices, we will be returning to try more! My wife and I agree that our server/bartender, Marissa, was beyond great at her job, offering great conversation on top of great service. Definitely stop in and see her for lunch, brunch, or dinner!
Bacon fried (it was black). Eggs overcooked. Wasn't even eaten and had to pay for it with out server even asking if everything was good. We love this place for dinner. Will never come back for brunch!
The interesting surroundings in this restaurant will certainly keep your attention if you enjoy refurbished buildings from the 1800s. The food is themed for the restaurant name and was prepared well. The beer and mixed drink selection is good for the area.
This is my 3rd time here so thought great place to take family for dads 84th birthday. Made reservations for 12. Our waitress first messed up drink orders and when brought to attention just walked away to leave my sister with no drink correction. Those who got alcohol received drinks after I asked for refills on pop orders. Waited over an hour for our food and again asked for refills. Food was cold for some and my flat bread was burnt black. Made me a new one to which I received after everyone was done eating. Then waited an additional 30 minutes for her to get bills complete. After $146 later for my bill for my family the rest of family was not impressed with your place of service and what they paid either on food. I’m saddened as I talked Trainwreck up. Worst part is..my 84 year old dad had to go through all that.
Do better! Get experienced waiters for groups or have help for them. Really disappointing
UPDATE
As Layla reached out from my review and responded, she did not respond to the two emails that were mailed to her. I also called twice to Trainwreck and either time she was not available. Nothing was solved on this matter. With all that went on that night I DO NOT recommend this restuarant. Word of mouth hurts business and I guarantee some will not be returning.
Food and service not the same. Marina is sadly missed.
Great food the fried bread pudding is a must try

Price for a steak was $60!!! and half of it was fat. Too expensive and wasn’t even good!! Alfredo had barely any sauce and the bread tasted like it just had a ton of salt poured on it. Total was $98 for two people so dumb!

The food here is awesome. Had White cheddar crab dip for the starter. I highly recommend it. The Roadmaster Mac was to die for. also highly recommended is the Mary's Mahi Tacos. Cameron was a delight and a very good bartender.

Tyler was awesome (have fun in Chicago). The beer is nice and cold, the space is very cool and the food - we only had some apps - is good.
