Highly recommend! Tony the owner is such a sweetheart and very knowledgeable on his product that he makes locally. Did the wine tasting and it was only $10 for 5 tastings. As someone who is new to wine, Tony took the time to explain and recommend great flavours đ Beautiful atmosphere and be sure to ask to see the scrapbook for a some history. Cherry wine was my favourite.
Contessa Wine Cellars delivered an amazing experience from start to finish. The wine connoisseur was incredibly knowledgeable, gracious, and genuinely happy to chat with usâeven as closing time approached. We especially loved their sweet, blush, and fruit winesâeach one was full of flavor and well-balanced. The setting is charming, complete with a beautiful grape chandelier that added to the cozy, elegant vibe. Canât wait to return!
Great atmosphere. Great people
Absolutely loved our visit to Contessa Wine Cellars in Coloma, Michigan! The wine is truly amazingâeach variety we tried was full of flavor and clearly crafted with care. The setting is beautiful, with stunning views and a peaceful, welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to stay all day.
What really made the experience special was the owner, Tony. Heâs incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and his passion for winemaking really shines through. You can tell he takes great pride in what he does, and it makes the whole visit feel personal and memorable.
This place is a gemâwhether youâre a wine enthusiast or just looking for a beautiful spot to relax, Contessa is a must visit. Weâll definitely be back! Five stars all the way!

Itâs $8 now, but itâs still worth, nice taste, nice place and nice people !!!
Wine is outrageous and delicious!
But I just stop by and said it was open and is closed. 20 min drive for nothing.
We stopped by Contessa Wine Cellars on a cold Sunday afternoon. The owner spent a lot of time explaining and recommending wines and answering our questions. It was nice to go off season so we could take our time and enjoy the experience. The Cherry wine đ was our favorite.
Iâve stopped by Contessa twice now, and the owner has been super friendly each time. It seems the business has been a family one for some time, and their wine is quite good. If you like sweet wines, Dolce Vida is an excellent drink. Itâs been a bit since my tasting, but I remember that one well enough. Contessa is definitely worth a stop.
Phenomenal wines
We enjoyed a sunny October afternoon on the outdoor patio while sampling their 4 flight wine and doughnut pairing. If you are in the area check it out.

Tony & the beauty of his tasting room was fantastic. We felt like we reconnected with an old friend. His knowledge of the wine making industry is from his personal experience from childhood. We plan to return. The wine is delicious and reasonably priced.
A definite must visit. The building and views are very nice. The wines are amazing and Tony the owner was the best. Was made to feel like an old friend from the moment we walked through the door. You can tell he loves what he does and it's a life passion. Highly recommend a visit even if it's a bit out of your way.
Such a beautiful venue and such a great time! The wine is very good and local. The environment and service is so fun and knowledgeable. If youâre nearby, swing by! You wonât regret it. We took 3 bottles home after our tasting.
Lovely location, had a 4-wine sample (2oz pour each) it was a day for sweets - the Bianco Bella was delightful, rich with many notes. The Celeste I was told was similar to a moscato, I would agree although not as âsyrupyâ. The Dolce Vita was a nice red, not too heavy, lots of fruit with a peppery finish. I debated between the Prediletto Blush & Cherry - I was told people come for just the Cherry, & it did not disappoint! Fruit forward with substance, which was a nice change from many cherry wines that are so thin without any body.
The deck was nice, with many terraces & a covered area with cushioned couches. A great way to cap off the weekend travels!
** edit to add, it is built on a hill, making the tasting room, and lower level, covered deck handicap accessible. The top tier of the open deck is only one step down
Beautiful place and very friendly staff. The wines are superb!
