I had the misfortune of stopping at this place. I visit dive bars all over Michigan and have seen all kinds of characters, but this was a new low. I watched the owner walk over, take $40 out of the bartender’s tip jar, send her home, and within minutes, all the regulars cleared out. That should’ve been my cue.
By 7:40 p.m.—well before the posted 9 p.m. closing time—it was just me and one other customer. That’s when the guy next to me quietly said, “You’d be smart to leave. This guy’s a little off his rocker.” I didn’t listen.
A few minutes later, the owner came straight up to me, completely unprovoked, yelling that he was “tired of my bullshit.” I had no clue what he was talking about. He grabbed my mug, dumped half my beer down the drain, threw $2 at me, and kept screaming. I asked him what I had done wrong, and he wouldn’t answer—he just insisted I leave through the back door. That’s when things got even more concerning.
I tried the front door and realized there was no way to unlock it from the inside. The owner had installed a double-sided keyed deadbolt, which is not just shady—it’s a serious safety hazard. If there had been a fire, there’s no way I could’ve gotten out without him unlocking it. He finally did let me out, but it left a bad taste.
I mentioned it at the gas station and the Mexican restaurant across the street—both said the same thing. It used to be a decent bar, but the owner has run it into the ground. The place is now empty for a reason.
Unless you’re looking for a locked-door, hostile-owner kind of experience, I’d strongly recommend staying far away. The man running it clearly isn’t fit to be in business anymore.

Came with a group of 5 in total did 20 Jell-O shots, 4 per person, at 2$ per shot, amounting to 40$ for the 20 Jell-O shots we paid 10$ for the first round up front. So in total the tab at that point was 30$ the. Each person in our 5 person group had 2 drinks. At 5$ a piece. Typically that is really cheap especially for the area so I wouldn’t normally complain. But my sister paid for her first drink. Which should’ve made the tab 30$ for Jell-O shots +45 for the two rounds for drinks. At the end of the night our tab was 95$. Which it should have been 75$ but when we tried to talk to the bar tender, an older gentlemen about the price and our concerns he started yelling and cussing at us threatening to kick us out and such when we simply were just asking a question pulled out our calculators to do the math on the prices because it did not make sense to us. To clarify the first person he yelled at and cursed at was me a 21 year old female, I was polite and just trying to explain how many drinks we got and how we thought the total should be, instead of supplying reasoning or anything along the lines he just got more aggressive. My fiancé did not like the way he was speaking to me and said “I couldn’t imagine speaking to a woman like that”. He just continued being aggressive cursing at us and yelling. We ended up just paying the extra 20$ on the tab to avoid a scene. Not to mention one of our drinks had black flakes of a foreign substance in his drink. Honestly we won’t ever be returning to this spot and for our first time coming here it was a genuinely terrible experience. Do not recommend.

Awful experience here. Order 2 pizzas, and the pepperoni on both were rancid. the meat was grey had an really bad smell, and tasted terrible.Went back to get a refund with both boxes still full (we only had 2 bites each) and the owner yelled at me when I told what was wrong "don't ever come back and order a pizza from me again!", "there's nothing wrong with that damn pizza!". Old dude never even opened the box to look. Its obvious that the meat had spoiled, they served it anyways, and he was embarrassed but too proud to admit fault, typical boomer. Also I'm not sure if its normal for them to put the toppings under the cheese, but that's what they did, not sure if they were trying to hide the fact that the meat was suspect...

Surprisingly good pizza, locally owned “watering hole” with friendly owners and nice patrons to have good conversation with.
