Incredible accommodations at this historical home on Manistique Lake. Was very disappointed to learn that the restaurant was no longer operating, as it was one of the desires of our stay. But the owner was pleasant and hospitable for our breakfast. Will return as long as it’s open for business, in the warmer summer days!
My wife and I recently had our wedding at the Belvedere Grand and it certainly was magical. We have been going to the restaurant for years and the place is still just as amazing as always. This time, rather than just eating at the restaurant, we also stayed in the rooms and were able to work with the owner and staff to help make our big day great. The rooms are updated, clean and quite charming and our guests and I had no issues at all. They even have a lovely coffee/breakfast shop right inside the inn which was great for all our guests getting breakfast the morning of. Without question, the location and scenery of the inn is quite beautiful. Between the yard and the wide lake views, there isn't a bad sight on the property. For our wedding, the whole team was kind and flexible. From letting us set-up and drop items off early and having their staff create such an easy and fun environment, we truly cannot thank them enough. Lastly, their food is and has always been amazing! Their chef is the real deal and crafts many different food options all equally delicious. The stuffed mushrooms and raspberry chicken are two of our favorites! We cannot recommend the Belvedere Grand enough whether it is for your wedding, a weekend getaway or even just a night out for dinner. We cannot wait to be back!
We enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are great. Views of the lake are breathtaking. Rooms are old, but they have a great character. Our bathroom sink was clogging and had a small leak. Nicole was kind and friendly as our hostess. Breakfast had limited options, cappuccino was great!
Lovely appointed rooms that capture the romantic era of these times. Very friendly waitstaff and great dining for this up north establishment. (Bar food dining in town... but this is a gem for a good dinner.) The whitefish was yummy 😋. Wonderful view of the lake from our room. Cozy pillows and quaint decor. Nice!
My boyfriend and I came up this past weekend and it was truly a wonderful experience. We enjoyed our room, the stay was wonderful. Peaceful, quiet & we enjoyed our self every night. First night we got to hangout at the bar, our bartender was amazing we loved her & got to meet some good people. The food was delicious and the drinks were as well. We also got a coffee and breakfast every morning for staying there. I would definitely come back and stay here and recommend this bed and breakfast to my friends and family. thanks for having us and being so welcoming.
Bar, Cocktails, food, atmosphere, rooms and staff all we're top notch. This is a highly recommended stay for anyone in the area. Will definitely go back
Came to the Belvedere Grand for appetizers and drinks and had a nice time. The view was perfect. They were out of the calamari but we opted for jalapeños and the beet salad. Both were very good and the service was attentive. We didn’t go inside or use the facilities but from the host stand everything looked neat and clean.
Amazing coffee and muffins!! And the best view in town!! Highly recommend!!!
The food at the Belvedere Grand Restaurant was 10/10. Unbelievably delicious. As good if not better than food back home in Grand Rapids. The staff members were delightful as well.
We stopped for coffe which was delicious, and the people were so very kind! Our kids loved Winston the dog and their goats, Harmony and Penelope were also a huge hit! Beautiful place and can't wait to return!

Overpriced and unimpressed with the food. Blue gill was good but the ribeye not so much. Service was great though.
So sad to see the deterioration of this historic place. They’ve removed every ounce of character, charm and family friendly aspect. After decades of enjoying this spot, it’s sad to see it declining under new ownership. We continue to pop in here and there to check up and unfortunately it’s worse every time.
I've been coming to this spot for 30 years, ever since it was Chamberlin's and I was a preschooler. When the new owners took over, my husband, toddlers, and I visited a handful of times. We loved our usual routine of drinks and appetizers on the porch, where our girls could play on the kids playground and even meet some of the goats. We always had such a good time.
This summer, we were excited to return and try out the new coffee bar. As a total caffeine addict, I was really looking forward to getting a fresh coffee for myself and some kid-friendly breakfast options for our girls. We'd promised them they could run around and play on the playground like they always do.
Unfortunately, we were really disappointed when we arrived to find the playground and the entire kids' play area had been removed. Our kids were devastated! I'd hoped they might have just updated it with something else kid-friendly outside, but there was nothing there for them. That was a real bummer.
We went inside and tried to order bagels from the chalkboard menu, but were told they were out. So, we opted for cinnamon rolls, which were absolutely fantastic, and a yogurt parfait, along with my much-needed coffee. The barista was super nice and friendly, and the coffee was good. However, the $6.50 yogurt parfait was definitely not worth it. While the yogurt was fine, it was supposed to come with mixed fruit and granola. The granola was good, but the only fruit was frozen blueberries that I couldn't even bite into. I ended up picking them all out and just had yogurt and granola for $6.50.
Maybe I've set the bar too high, but I really miss the old Chamberlin's, and my kids truly miss the play space. While I like the idea of the new morning breakfast options, it leaves a lot to be desired in terms of execution. We'll definitely try again in the future, hopefully with a more positive review to write.
We were first greeted by the friendliest dog and two goats. That’s when I knew this place would be good. The server is very kind but just a tad bit slow understanding this is the UP. The food was outstanding.
I debated posting this review, as Bud and Kelly have been friends of mine and I had my wedding at the inn.
The plan to have Mother’s Day lunch was a big deal, since I live an hour and a half away and planned to take the in-laws. I wanted this to be something special.
The issues started with making lunch reservations. 4 calls made and not once did anyone pick up. I know for a fact Kelly would pick up after a ring or two.
When we did arrive and got seated, our waitress was very kind and took our orders after having a starter. The wait was quite long, considering there were only four other tables with customers and the bar was empty. The meal was sub par, to say the least. The $50 steak was tough and I should have skipped it for chicken strips on the kids menu.
I believe this was the first day open for the season but the whole place was just not what it used to be. The men’s bathroom had no paper towel, the decor is completely absent and there was no fire going. It was cool enough to keep a jacket on in the building. Someone propped the door to the back room with a rock and there were seasonal decorations spread all over the place.
To say I’m disappointed is an understatement. I was really hoping the new owners were going to make some improvements but this is missing the mark by a long shot. The ambience just isn’t the same and I miss the feeling of stepping into Chamberlins and being home.
Time will tell if this changes but I doubt I will return.
