I love this place, we found it by accident driving down the highway and decided to stop in. Not only do they do a good breakfast crowd, they have great specials for lunch and dinner. It seems like it's the entertainment Mecca for the town it's in. Lots of locals come here and enjoy as well as visitors. It was nice because everyone is welcome. The food is good, it comes out fast, and they don't mind if you hang around and drink a few beers. This is my second or third time here. And definitely search it out anytime I'm in the area.

For a one horse town, this horse is secretariat. This restaurant is a life blood place for Dansville. I have eaten there several times over the last few months, the food, drink and staff are all reasons to stop by. Aggie Burger is quite a namesake for school mascot- big, tasty and a great mix of flavors. Keep a good grip- it can slide out of your hand. Next time I go I will try something else- so far just the Aggie burger each time. Keep an eye out for the events that night- it is like a community center, meeting place and restaurant all in one. Plenty of parking in this cute little downtown.

The Wooden Nickel has never disappointed me. Every restaurant can have an off day just like anyone else. I read the reviews which are mostly old and when it was under Larry as the owner. To be honest the reviews I thought were a little harsh on the Nickel. Tonight I had the open faced roast beef. Honestly I have to say it really is probably one of the best I've ever had. The beef was tender, moist and not over cooked. The mashed potatoes are made from real potatoes and not boxed instant potatoes. The food arrived very quickly and was nicely presented on the plate. The Nickel was packed tonight yet the service was great. The waitress was extremely friendly even though she super busy. While sitting and watching the wait staff was super friendly and engaging with every table. The best places are these little hole in the walls. Little places like this everyone knows everyone. It was nice seeing everyone laughing joking and having a really nice time. I highly recommend giving this place a try. I saw the bad reviews but those were years ago, give this place a try again, it's worth it!

I had a good time. Rode out there for kicks for dinner and the ambiance was nice and the food was good. Ended up talking with a stranger at the bar for a few minutes even. I'll definitely swing by again.

I first ate at the Wooden Nickel about a year ago, and I have to say I was pretty impressed, the burger was juicy and the fries were crisp. This experience was great and I would say a 4.5 star experience. I have went on pretty frequent dates here over the summer and generally had a pretty good experience, the atmosphere, the service, and overall the care that went into the food was pretty amazing in and of its own right. However, I visited tonight, the first restaurant since the shutdown I have been to, and I got to say, it was horrible. I took my parents to dinner here because I had raved about the food being one of my local favorites. However my expectations fell very short when I had first arrived, The waitress was really friendly. I had ordered a Patty Melt, a classic favorite of mine and I was very disappointed. The sandwich has no flavor, yes no flavor; it genuinely surprised me that was even possible. The usual tender juicy sautéed onions were barely cooked and loaded poorly onto the sandwich. The burger that came on the sandwich was extremely oversized on one side, and very small on the other. Along with the Patty Melt I had received a side of onion rings and these were pretty underwhelming as well. The brownness of the batter proves they were cooked at too high of heat and failed to cook the onion inside leaving it still freshly crisp, generally a no go with onion rings. My parents food was also not good and they had questioned my choice in me taking them to this restaurant apposed to another. needless to say this experience has ruined my image of the establishment and I will not be returning. It's a shame my once favorite restaurant has fallen into such disarray. I would advise anyone debating to arrive with low expectations or avoid the Wooden Nickel, There are many superior businesses in local cities. Cheers!

The company. It is a farmer bar with good food and good beer. It is not fancy, but it is very inexpensive. Total package: awesome !

we ordered 3 pizzas tonight! 1 was a bbq chicken pizza minus the bacon... that was the only pizza for the 2 people that dont eat pork. well bacon came on it! when they got a call about it, they apologized and said they will discount the next order. ummmm ok, so 2 people didn't get to eat. thats not ok. the food was great, but not offering to remake the pizza you messed up on, not ok
