As someone who has been in customer service my whole life (in some form or another), that is impressive 👏🏼 Same great experience every single time we go. Authentic delicious food, friendly staff, great service no matter who we had as a server & food always comes out super fast piping hot. Support their restaurant if you’re in the area!

El Cozumel has consistently delicious and authentic Mexican food. Hands down the best Mexican food in Genesee County and perhaps all of Michigan. The staff are friendly and attentive and the drinks delicious. The best frozen Margarita can be found here.

We just moved here from Texas & Mexican food is our favorite! After several recommendations we tried El Cozumel Mexican Grill tonight & it is by far our favorite Mexican food restaurant here in Michigan & it’s the closest thing to our favorite restaurant in Texas! As a server myself that also worked at a Mexican restaurant I’m big on customer service & Carlos was absolutely amazing & the food was fantastic! I have a feeling my husband & I will be seeing Carlos on a weekly basis to get our fix!❤️

I never expected that I would find an amazing Mexican restaurant in the area of Flint, Michigan, but that is exactly what happened. While on our way home from a long Roguetrip, we were passing through Flint, and it was dinner time. Mexican Restaurants are our favourite - and we always make a beeline for Mexican cuisine where ever we can. We saw this Mexican restaurant in a Mall. The mall looked deserted, and we were sceptical about going there. However, as we sat in the car thinking about it….we noticed the large groups and the number of people coming and going from this restaurant—many leaving with takeout containers and doggie bags. This showed us that it is obviously a favourite spot amongst the locals - so we went for it. Inside - the restaurant was packed, vibrantly decorated, and bustling with activity. We could tell we made the right choice to go in. Immediately upon being seated , we were presented with a huge bowl of nacho chips and salsa - with a smile. Our waitress came over shortly after and was very pleasant and energetic. I honestly don’t remember the names of the items we ordered, but they were absolutely amazing. The food was everything we had hoped for and expected. It was full of authentic flavours and perfectly presented. All of our cravings for Mexican food were perfectly satisfied. We always have a margarita when we eat Mexican food, and they had several flavour options to choose from - and they are huge. The Nacho chips and salsa get refilled before you finish the current bowl. The staff are extremely attentive to their guests & needs. The prices are so reasonable - this may be the cheapest (and most satisfying) meal we had during our road trip. What an Unexpected surprise. What an Unexpected surprise. We switched from our usual Mexican restaurant because the reviews were better. We were not disappointed! The Pablos Burrito was especially amazing! I got a frozen margarita, my husband got his on the rocks and his was better by far. Service was A+ and we were glad to hear they are opening an additional location in Lapeer!

We all liked out food. Great flavors. Nice atmosphere including the music on the speakers. Authentic. We were there at lunch and two of us had lunch combos. Some come with rice and beans and some come with only one of the two. I understand that there are reasons but I wish there was an option to upgrade for an additional charge. Service was great but the waiter didn't ask what size beer I wanted. The 22 oz was really too big for me. Not a big deal and I think I probably look like someone who wants the larger one.

The employees was very friendly and helpful in pronoucing menu items , loved the way restaurant is set up and the food was all awesome got full had to get a carry out . We loved it will go again. Didn't take pictures was to busy enjoying you have to go see yourself. As we was walking in a couple was leaving speaking very highly to restaurant to host that says a lot before you are seated.

This would’ve gotten five stars except for the waiter because our service was pretty iffy. As soon as we sat down the waiter asked us what we wanted to drink and said “are you ready to order do you need some time“. Since this was the first time we’ve ever been to this restaurant we obviously were not ready and they have quite a large extensive menu. Once we were ready to order the waiter was nowhere to be found and after about 10 minutes we finally flagged him down and got our order placed. Then randomly while we were waiting for our food he came over and asked if there was anything else we needed which was so strange because we were just sitting there with our chips and salsa and drinks. Someone else delivered our food and then we never saw the waiter again until he brought the bill and we actually had to flag him down for that too Now for the food which is the real reason this place got four stars. I got the Camerones a la Diabla which is basically shrimp with onions green peppers grilled and with a brown spicy sauce. It was absolutely delicious and it comes with some flour tortillas on the side plus rice and beans. The portions are huge and all the food was absolutely delicious. My friend ordered the enchilada dinner and it was also huge and he said it was one of the best enchilada dinners he’s ever had. He ended up taking quite a bit of his home in a carry out box also.
