Overall, I found the service to be friendly, and the portions of ground meat from processing are reasonable. The packaging is also well done. However, if there is a next time, I plan to request that my back straps and tenderloins be kept whole. I do have concerns though, as it seems like there might be some double-dipping happening. We didn’t receive the full portion from either deer, and based on our usual experience processing our own, we typically get more than just two packages of back straps per deer. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning, as I’m not willing to pay for all the meat I expect back only to receive a smaller amount than what I should.

J Dean's is the best place around. My son and I love this place and will be a forever customer.

I've used this place for years.
I love the quality and the price. However, I won't be returning until they find a healthy alternative to these chemical dyes they are pumping into the venison sticks they make.

I never questioned it in the past but I noticed on the ingredients of one of their packaged products it said it included red 3 and red 9. I called them to verify that they were not turning my healthy venison that I bring them into cancerous poison by including these chemicals. Unfortunately they confirmed my worst fear and the casings themselves are covered in chemical dye. If they're going to continue to use these with no alternative they should at least let people know what they are consuming.

Dropped off 2 does this year. One was 20lbs or so heavier than the other, but strangely received the same amount from both which was the exact amount they needed to make the requested sausage…

Great selections of specialty meats! The staff was friendly and informative. I had some of the brats a few weeks ago and they were fantastic!Can't wait to try my new purchases!!

They don’t give you all of your meat back and sell it inside of their store.

I would update google. I literally planned my entire day around coming here for the last things I needed and GOGGLE literally says that this location accepts EBT not the farmers market pop up. Now I have to explain to a 5 year old how even though mom works really hard I can't get the green beans ( not even candy ) that he wanted because you're stores info wasn't accurate

The angus ground chuck is incredible. Best hamburger of my lifetime. We grilled burgers tonight after buying it at your Flint Farmer’s Market location. I have been searching for months and months. I didn’t wanna have to buy a quarter Steer at Richardson’s meats in Argentine. So by accident I found you on a U of M field trip. I actually forgot what hamburgers are supposed to taste like when they are real, pure, fresh, high quality and unprocessed, and I now know I have not had a real hamburger in years and years until now!! Thank you so much for this incredible freshly ground steak that brought me back to my childhood!

Amazing selection and everything is so fresh!

I visited the flint farmers market store and the workers were so nice and helpful. I purchased the hamburger meat and made Hamburgers and the meat tasted nothing like the meat that u buy from the store..It was so delicious . I will definitely be buying from them again.......

After arriving at J Dean's and coming from a 2 & 1/2 hour drive we were meant with them being closed. Hours posted online are incorrect and nothing is posted on the door. We only meant the owner After calling and finding out they closed earlier then advertised.

Every time I come to purchase from them, their closed before the advertised hours and there are no hours posted on the front door!

Bought some pre-made burgers for superbowl on Saturday from commerce location. They were labeled "mushroom" burgers and had ingredients listed. Thawed and cooked sunday just to realize they had cheese inside, which thankfully my boyfriend tasted. I am allergic to dairy, so this could have been a hospital trip for me.When I called on Monday, I left a message at this location because no one answered at either location. Called again towards end of day because I hadn't received a call back. Spoke with an employee from the commerce who initially told me to call back next day to speak with manager, hes not at work today. He then called me back and said he spoke with his manager and I could come back in to get a refund and a free sandwich. I asked if they were removing mislabeled products from the freezer, as its quite dangerous to continue to sell. He said he needed to discuss with manager.This is the part that I just dont understand, if you have mislabeled food products, why wouldnt you remove from freezer and relabel properly? Just waiting for that special customer to have an anaphylactic reaction? Very careless to put peoples lives in danger.Its not even worth my time(20mins one way) to drive there to get a refund ($9) and now I wouldnt ever eat anything from here, even if it was free.Also a manager/owner still hasn't called me back

Great choice for sausages, Jerry, seafood, and grass-fed beef.
