This was our first visit. We loved the atmosphere and enjoyed the running photograph screens. The food was absolutely delicious! The staff was very nice and our server, Jenna, was so welcoming and friendly and very helpful with my dietary restrictions. We will definitely be regulars from now on.

The food and service is always amazing, but Jenna is the absolute best waitress I’ve ever had. She was taking care of multiple BIG tables at the same time and took care of everyone seamlessly. She’s the best.

My wife and I decided to give the VanBorn Tavern a try for the first time for dinner. Let’s just say awful would be generous.

1) To start we were sat at a both along VanBorn road, the window sill was absolutely disgusting. Dead bugs, cob webs, a layer of dust it clearly had mot been cleaned or even wiped down in months. So if the front of the house looks like that just imagine what the back of the house looks like?
2) my wife ordered a beer and was brought the wrong beer, ok mistakes happen everyone is human the waitress corrected it.
3) I ordered the “famous baby back ribs” if famous means freezer burned, dry, meat that was obviously cooked days ago and just reheated with bbq sauce slapped on it then YES very Famous for being almost inedible. Awful!

We always know it is a risk trying new places and should have known when we saw the sun faded sign out front to go elsewhere. Not Recommend!

Waitress was nice. Rueben sandwich had 1 piece of processed turkey about an 1/8 of an inch thick, where's the meat? Fellow patron enters with dog and after making rounds at the bar posts up with said dog 4 feet from kitchen where everyone pets or holds it. No clear indication of anyone washing their hands after interaction. I always believed animals in restaurants would be a health code violation but apparently not, and yes I like dogs just not near my food. Unlikely to return to this establishment. :-(

Wow. What a great place. Yes it’s a bar/tavern but the food was great, Jenna was an outstanding server, and it had a great vibe with local beers on tap. The appetizer (Glaming Saganaki) was awesome. Especially when it was lit on fire! Everyone’s meal was great and the homemade tzatziki sauce was excellent. The deserts were good but the service made the meal a great experience. Attentive but not hovering and talkative and not chatty. The price was a nice surprise too being under by $20-$25 less than we expected.
