I want to give this restaurant more stars. I do. But I can’t. Our waitress was so gracious and lovely and the staff who actually showed up were kind and positive. Yet the last two times we’ve visited, it’s been a nightmare.
Last time when we came, they should’ve been open but weren’t. A frazzled employee in the parking lot informed us that since almost no one had shown up to work, they didn’t have enough staff to open. That should’ve been a harbinger of problems to come.
But ever the optimists, we decided to try again tonight. We thought we were in luck when we arrived and they were actually open… How wrong we were. We had to wait about an hour to be seated. Not because there weren’t any tables open; but because there wasn’t sufficient staff. Once we finally sat at our table, our hostess informed us we couldn’t order yet because the kitchen was backed up. Finally, our lovely waitress informed us we could order…but the kitchen was out of a majority of their appetizers. We ordered what was available, and waited a bit more. Approximately 2.5 hours after we entered the establishment, we received our food.
You may think our challenges were over, but the food can most generously be described as adequate. But more accurately, it was disappointing, bland, and (frankly) bizarre. The portion sizes were small, there was very little seasoning, and the street tacos came with a GENEROUS heaping of kale. The coleslaw? Also mostly kale. Our drinks weren’t even able to be refreshed because the bartender needed to be pulled into the kitchen because they were so short staffed.
My heart goes out to the staff. They don’t deserve to be so overworked and deal with such awful staffing issues. They have no control over the menu or the ordering of food to make sure the kitchen doesn’t run out. But as a warning to customers, I think we’re done frequenting this establishment and I suggest you find another eatery.
Edited to add: By the way, we had two children under the age of 2 with us. Luckily they behaved incredibly well, but I would *not* recommend this experience to other parents!

The food is great and great customer service but they are always out of food
My fiancee and I stopped in at 8:00 on a Monday for dinner. We stood there for about 5 minutes waiting for someone to seat us before being told that they were no longer seating, even though they didn’t close for another 50 minutes. We would have loved to eat here, or even grab a couple drinks if we couldn’t be sat. The sign said open seating for bar but we weren’t even offered that. Very disappointing that you would turn down paying customers.

Cheese curds were perfect! Staff was great! If you're on Lake Charlevoix and want something a bit quieter than The Landing this is a great choice!

The food tasted great, as well as presentation! However our server always left our table saying “enjoy,” e.g. when we did not have food on the table, or after taking our order, and handing us the bill. Enjoy what? Breathing the air? Lol.

Waited 15 minutes to be seated by the bar tender because the host was not where to be found. Got in and ordered got our drinks quick but waited 25 for our food. Burger was so hard we couldn’t even cut with a knife, fries were freezer burned and bread on both sandwiches was hard. And all the food was cold. They need major help!
