Was in town for a family trip and decided we would stop by and try this place.
Drinks were quickly served and we ordered our food promptly. However I'm not sure if our food sat in the window too long or what because it just wasn't good. I got a brisket sandwich and it just wasn't good, soggy bread, just meh.
Our waitress also checked in with us once, I literally had to stand up and hunt her down to get refills and our check.
The crowd was fun and the locals were nice in here but I won't be back, this place really dropped the ball.

My wife and I are vacationing in East Tawas for a few days. With the Tigers in the playoffs, we wanted a place with good lunches and plenty of TVs. We asked an employee in a local store and she recommended Barnacle Bill’s. Good food made fresh including their homemade pizza dough and fresh key lime pie. Tuesday burger specials were great. Huge selection of beers on tap and fast, friendly service. We ended up having lunch there twice. Our server remembered us the second time day, remembered our prior conversation, and the staff took great care of us. We would be regulars there if we lived locally.

I love Barnacle Bill's!!! I was in Tawas for the summer and ate at Barnacle Bill's a lot (twice a week almost every week). I stopped by for just drinks and sat outside. It was just like a Parisian café (or even a Sicilian cafe), and I travel a lot. I had appetizers such as fried mushrooms, French fries, burgers, fish dinners, and my 17-year old son felt they had the best pepperoni and green pepper pizza he ever had (and made a point to order it every time we ate there). We ate inside one time, and the atmosphere was lively and fun. In fact, I planned to go watch a Detroit Lions football game there because I thought it would be a blast to get some drinks, appetizers, and watch the game. Unfortunately something came up and I didn't get to see the game....but maybe next year! I spent the majority of times I went there, eating or drinking (or both) outside, because of the way it felt like I was back in Europe....café setting off the walking path with shoppers passing by, breezes, and a relaxing atmosphere. This is a hidden gem setting. Great food! Amazing outdoor setting. Awesome indoor, exciting setting - totally different vibe than the outdoor setting. Good service! And, I will definitely be back!

Was pretty good. Came from Mr Jack's that we sat for over 15 minutes to a non busy place, that e finally walked out of. I ordered the blackened cod. Was heavily blackened. Had to scrape most off. Food was ok. But being rv travelers. I don't think we'll be back here.
This is a great place to eat if you're in Tawas. The Bang Bang Bowl was delicious. I would definitley eat here again.

9/1/25 7:30pm- The bartender didn’t seem over worked, but told us she was very busy. As regular customers, we were surprised she said this we looked around and didn’t see the regular wait staff. After being ignored before ordering dinner we just paid for the drinks and left.
