The hours were wrong on google. A worker told me to drive by and look at the window for correct hours. We got blizzards and they were half way melted and not served to us upside down. There were people behind us because they too looked the hours up online, and were told they would still serve them because they still had dirty dishes to do so they would be there. I gave 4 stars for service because they did make our blizzards. My family is from Tawas, I came to visit from Texas, I haven't been to this DQ in probably 20 years. I'm very disappointed!! I will not be back!

We stopped in and decided to get some food before desert. This isnt our usual routine...being usually just desert..lol. We ordered Cheeseburger doubles and Onion rings. Burgers were really good! Lots of cheese and burgers were nice size. Onion rings were great! Now as to desert... Whenever we stop in...they are always great! Turtle cluster vanilla ice cream and Butterfinger Blizzards...Lots of ice cream for a small! Defineately recommend!!

When we walked in, we had an excited 3 year old waiting for ice cream. There were around 4-5 employees behind the counter and they all walked up as we were looking at the menu. There was no “hello how you doing” nothing like that, they stared at us while we were deciding on an order. We decided, paid, and waited for our order which didn’t take long at all. When we walked in we noticed how dirty the floor was, food, wrappers and dirt everywhere. We were the only customers in the store. We also had trouble finding a table to sit at. We chose the one that looked the most clean. The ice cream was good but the experience was terrible.

Not wheelchair friendly. That’s huge for me. The seats in the restaurant are NOT plus size friendly I ended up waiting in the car for my family to get our order because there’s not adequate seating or room if you weigh over 200 or use a wheelchair. As far as service it was fine no complaints there. All we got was ice cream so based on the ice cream the food was good no complaints there. Just the environment is small and not accommodating or accessible for others.
*UPDATE PER REQUEST IN REPLY I HAVE SUBMITTED MY CONCERNS THERE AS WELL*

This dairy queen has been a part of East Tawas as long as we have been visiting.
This four star review is complicated. Because on the outside the place is a traditional dairy queen. But on the inside. It's a hot mess. Anything more then about four people in line and things get hairy. You walk in the door. Wiggle though people though a small doorway to stand in line. The line crosses the entrance, so it's a congestion nightmare. The " dining " area is in serious need of some updates and remodels to make it look and feel more then a military mess hall.
Service is quick. Plenty of staff. Polite and to the point. Get your order. Take your name and move on. Can't complain. One thing that is shoved down our throats is the turning of the screen in front of you face to face with the employee looking at you with tip choices. My goodness. That needs to stop.
Dairy queen is NOT your small town feel ice cream parlor. However this one is consistent in its product. Good cones. Good blizzards and so on. That's why we come here. You will be in and out fast and your ice cream will be consistently good.
Let's put some dollars back into the inside to make it inviting and a space people want to come in and enjoy :)
