We've made a stop at Village Chocolatier for the past three years on our weekend Girls trip to Tawas. It's a good thing we Love the chocolate and keep coming back because the Unfriendly service we've witnessed each year is very annoying for a group of 8 or so people each buying $25 or more worth of chocolates....seems like the workers would be happy to have customers instead of annoyed they have to put candy into a bag for people.

Absolutely the very best chocolate available in lower Michigan! I especially love the milk chocolate covered orange jelly pieces (without peel). And the chocolate covered pretzels. I wish they could mail order a 2 lb box to me, as l live in Oxford. We only visit that area once a year.

This is a place we visit when we are in East Tawas religiously.

We always are in search for the chocolate covered swedish fish. And chocolate covered pineapples.

We recently tried the white chocolate dipped green grapes rolled in nuts. Very very good.

They can be pricey. But as a treat when we vacation there. We don't mind. Good stuff !!!

Nice clean well maintained. My husband goes there for the jelly slices and there is usually a good selection of both regular and sugar free chocolate. I would recommend.

Dietary restrictions: Has a good selection of sugar free candy

2 girls working last Saturday were talking amongst themselves. I had to wait at the counter for quite some time. I did the awkward throat clearing thing to get some attention.

The best place for homemade chocolates around. You can build you own box of chocolates or buy a premade selection. Two bit truffles! Better gifts come from local shops.

Sorry, but I cannot give a good review and here is why... I was very excited to get to try the dairy free 70% chocolates. We came on Sunday. They were out of the kind that had dried cherries and I asked if they had any more. The girl looked at the ladies in the kitchen and said, I don't think so. She waited on the person ahead of me and then she skipped me and asked the person behind me what they wanted. We came to Tawas to get dairy free chocolates for me! The lady behind me ordered tons of stuff. I was never acknowledged beyond when I asked about more chocolates. So we left. We won't waste our time coming back.
