Very disappointing selection of meat. Nothing of actual quality. Shame to call yourselves a butcher shop while only carrying second hand meats. Nothing appeared particularly fresh. And all meat displayed was "choice" at best, which is very low quality on the food scale. Nothing prime grade. Won't find wagyu. The sausage looked like it was 2 weeks old. Definitely not impressed. Didn't find anything that was quality enough to buy so can't speak on the taste. All around screams ghetto.

We love Mario's so much that we make the trip from the Algonac area a few times a year to stock our freezers and cor some fresh eats.The only thing that could make it better, is if they carried a small amount of the basic fresh produce.

Meat was of good quality. Prices were good. Cashier was a little too jokey for me. I couldn't tell if she was joking or being racist. Either way it's not a good look especially for as old and dried up as she is. Hopefully my next time going will be a much better customer service experience. The meat counter guy was cool he helped guide me through the different options they had.

My family has been shopping here since I was a kid. I have good memories of Mario there; he was always friendly. They have the best selection and the best quality. It's always fresh; You can taste the difference. And they make the best subs! I always stop in for these when I return home for a visit.

The worst place. They like to play games. I ordered eight turkey thighs for Thanksgiving that were supposed to be 1/2 pound each and ended up with 12 pounds of thighs for 2 people and a cat. The package was labeled X Lage thighs. I ordered a small leg of lamb for Christmas and ended up with a 10 pound leg of lamb. I am a chef that went to culinary school and worked in restaurants so this was nota miscommunication problem.

Great place with great people! The butcher, Carlo is so nice and helpful! So was the man that helped us behind the counter (didn't get his name). They took the time to guide us on what meat to buy for the soup we want to make. They certainly went above and beyond... We are so grateful! Must shop here, we certainly will be again!!

I love Mario's, been coming since I was a kid. Highly recommend their brisket burgers! Yum! They just got some new coolers for their beverages and they look incredible!But the cashier you guys have working, is absolutely bringing the place down. She's horribly miserable. Rude, bags things badly (glass bottle pop in with my bread and smashing my burgers...), and she hardly ever says anything except for "I wish I didn't have to work anymore" or "I'll be happy when the day is over". I could understand if she was having a bad day, but it's everytime I'm here. I come 1-2 times per month. Get someone in here that is good with customers cause she's not it.

A fellow unemployed employee here; I was recently admitted into hospitality and all of a sudden my documents were kept but I still haven’t been scheduled an interview or date of where I can come back in. So I guess that’s denying my access of labor because of my recent disability. Shame to Gia because it’s been a sudden change of plans made by someone who isn’t me (my twin sister).

Mario's is a family business. They always treat me like family when I walk in. They take pride in giving you the old personalized butcher shop experience. They have great cuts of meat. They have also custom cut meat for me. You get great deals when you buy a whole loin, or a box of something.
The products are great. But don't come here, expecting friendly service. Janice, the cashier, was extremely rude to me today. She could barely even bring herself to look at me or say hello when I approached the checkout counter. She snatched the cash out of my hand and said nothing in return when I smiled and told her to have a nice day as I left. This happens EVERY time I shop here. I'm done spending my hard earned money here because of her. This woman is so rude to customers and does not need to work in customer service. Mario's isn't what it was back in the day, before Mario passed away.

Not a single time I’ve gone here has she been nice to me. She is one of the faces of this market and it’s unfortunate that she’s not pleasant to the customers. I always kill her with kindness regardless. However the people who work behind the deli are always pleasant and kind.

I’m sure the management has changed after all these years, but that place was slave drivers, hire 14 year old and put a Whip on their back for minimum wage. The Constant Harassment, micro management, toxic environment, screaming at employees, cutting employees down and teaching employees how to do basically everything it takes to run the business and pay them no additional money for skills acquired and time in service. The food and product were great but Mario and Mike were abusive A$$ Hats.
