This is by far the best soul food restaurant I've ever been to! The food is incredible and I loved everything I've tried. At first I thought it was a little expensive but then I tasted it and never thought about the price again.

Customer service over the phone is mediocre at best and lacks courtesy and appreciation for clients. Please don't be a vegetarian or order something that does not provide sufficient funds (though we spent almost $70). Over the course of year the prices have skyrocketed, customer service and appreciation has declined immensely. Wait time is excessively inconvenient. Not to mention I received one side small of gravy for three large sides that require (or at least I requested gravy). It is more than safe to say this business doesn't care about its customers, the quality of food or service and purely values your dollar minus any respect or gratitude towards customers. Save yourself the irritation.

I did this for twenty five years and never had the customers waiting longer then 30 minutes for something frozen come on people have at least two orders of fish thawed out and in your cooler it's going to sell I promise you it will.one hour was entirely too long.But the food was great ! Thank you!

I was excited to try soul food and picked this place. But after looking the menu over I noticed a sign that I felt is racist against white people. I stopped to get a menu and they have a T-shirt hanging by the checkout counter that says "Support black people proud black owner". There is many white owners if they posted a sign as such it would be a huge deal. No different. Needless to say after seeing the sign. I walked away and trashed the menu. Smh

It's decent food, but to me it's definitely not worth the prices that they charge you for. There's definitely other soul food places with more flavor in their food. For as long as I had to wait to get my order after I called it in (10-15 mins) plus the price, I was not impressed. Probably won't try this again.
I just want to say this is some of the best soul food in the WORLD! I am a soul food connoisseur and when I say this is by far the best in Michigan worldwide baby when I tell you Ms E-Vee's know what she doing back there in the kitchen y'all need to go and check out her out! the food is filled with love and great customer service and everything on the menu is great I really mean that-Brittney

Went to get banana pudding and it wasn't from scratch and there was no banana for a slight of a seven dollar container I expected more

My family and I have been loyal customers here since they had their previous building. This drive is much further and we still decide to support this place. The food is GREAT. Today, however, I had an unpleasant experience that will prevent me from coming back. The dinner I ordered comes with greens. They're out of greens and tell me that they're giving me green beans (which I don't care for) and I can't substitute it for anything else. The cashier had a nonchalant attitude. I decide to order anyway. Then I have to listen to the employees cursing, discussing taxes, etc. This is the reason black owned businesses do not thrive. Sorry, Ms. Evee. Your food is great, but I expect better. Especially if YOU'RE out of something. Anyone know of any comparable BBQ spots? I'm giving an extra star because my whole family loves this place.
