So last night we made reservations at Flat Rock in Edwardsburg for Valentine’s Day dinner with our grandchild Logan. We arrived about 10 minutes before our reservation and was seated immediately. It took about 10 minutes for a waitress to come over and she said “oh I didn’t see you there”. She said I’ll be right back so then she came back and she said do you guys mind if I take this other couples order because they’ve been waiting and they got here before you. I was like sure. It then took quite a bit of time for her to come back just to take our drink order. We had no waters. Nothing so we ordered our drinks. I ordered a Chardonnay Logan got a chocolate milk and John got a Starry. Took forever for the drinks to come out and they brought John a Pepsi so he had to tell them he got a Starry, not a Pepsi and it took forever to get the the correct drink back out to the table. Finally, our waitress comes over to take our order so we ordered our appetizers and our entrées and then said can our appetizers come out just a little bit before our entrées. So again we wait quite a bit of time in our appetizers came out. The mushrooms were hot but for the price that they were listed as we only got about eight mushrooms, two big ones and six small smaller ones. We ordered the brussels sprouts and they were tasty, however quite overdone. We then proceeded to wait at least 40 minutes before I asked the waitress again when we’re our entrées were headed out and she said “oh I saw them back there plating it up”. “It should be out soon”. During this time, Logan was getting fidgety and she said I think we need to just go they forgot about us. I took her to the bathroom and since I had all this free time and was sitting around I kinda was counting tables. They were 18 sat tables and 11 empty tables and when I walked her up to the bathroom, I noted that there was really nobody sitting at the front tables and a few people standing at the bar. So in my head, I was like what’s taking so long because I saw the kitchen as I walked by and there was quite a few staff in there. So we get back to the table and I noticed that John looks a little bit irritated so I said what’s going on and he said my steak which was a ribeye and my potatoes and my onion rings are all cold. I said shut up and I felt my food which was stuffed chicken and asparagus and a side salad my chicken and my asparagus were cold and they look like they had been sitting out for quite some time. Then I touched Logan‘s chicken tenders and french fries, and those were cold as well. So I went up to the hostess stand and said is there an owner or a manager here that I could speak to and they said sure will send one over. So again we wait and wait and then finally she comes over and I explaining to her what’s going on and she’s just like oh no oh I’m so sorry. Do you want a gift card and I looked at her and I said no and my husband John he said this is our first and last time that we ever be here so no we don’t want a gift card and I looked at her and I said after all the waiting because now we have been there for an hour and a half before we even got our entrées and I said I’m not paying for any of this. It was all terrible and the wait was ridiculous….so we are leaving and so we got up and left. I didn’t pay for anything and I don’t think they even cared and I did notice that our waitress had three tables for most all of the night as we were getting ready to leave she got sat with her fourth table…now I understand because I’ve worked in this field that sometimes things get busy however, this was not what I would deem busy, especially if you only have three tables and since basically half the restaurant was empty, which should’ve been my first clue. So then I went and looked at the reviews on Facebook all positive which having run a business Facebook page I know that you can delete those ones if you want to, and so I went out to Google and I found several reviews that talked about the same things that we had gone through….cold food long weights overcooked and looked food had been sitting t

Made reservations, Valentine’s Day. Waited close to a hour for our food. Everything was cold. My wife asked a waitress to have the manager come over. My wife told the manager everything on how long it took and that all our food was cold. First and last time we will ever go there.

Took my brother to dinner and he loved it! We love Flat Rock from the awesome food and staff! Try the Brussel sprouts and save room for dessert!

Went on a Friday evening and thought we would have to wait forever. We were seated right away. Our orders were taken right away. Server was great. Food was amazing. We also enjoyed the entertainment.

Ever since you switched to beef tallow in the fryers, everything tastes incredible. I had the chicken tenders and mozzarella rounds this weekend, and the flavor and crispiness were on another level (much better than the pre-tallow era chicken tenders).

Please keep the tallow! Not only does it make a huge difference in taste and texture, but it’s also a cleaner, more stable fat compared to seed oils. You can truly taste the quality in every bite.

We actually choose your FRG over other local restaurants specifically because of the tallow. Really hope this stays permanent!
