Nice local pastie place. Really good pasties with lots of baggies! Assorted varieties, minis for snacks, pizza, chicken and ham and cheese. Gravy and other sauces available, small area of yooper memorabilia. Makes for a quick lunch on the go, just like the miners did!

This place doesn't know what seasoning is -_- its pie crust filled with potatoes, the crust is dry and hardtack like. The potatos are unseasoned russets. Must be a local thing

We ate in pasty at a he store and bought a bunch to take back home. Unfortunately, we had a historic flood the night we returned and all the pasties that were in the freezer were lost😠Looks like we’ll have to make a run back up there when things settle down here.
This place is fantastic my family has tried a lot of pasties on our yearly trips and this was hands down the best. Food was great atmosphere was good, and the man behind the counter was friendly. I would recommended this spot to anyone going to visit or passing thru Escanaba.

Pasties come in wide spectrum and preferences seem to align along the lines of what you are used to. My first pasty was in the cafeteria at Northern Michigan University. I prefer a lighter crust ample meat filing and moist interior. AND GRAVY. Dobbers has a hearty crust and very dry interior. The gravy does not enhance the flavor. I suspect this is more of a traditional recipe with very basic ingredients and I suspect that the gravy is made with some reluctance and made available to trolls like me who are not truly of Yooper stock. It's not horrible, but I was hoping for something not worthy of lasting the day in a Miners pocket and providing sustenance over taste.
