Ebels is an iconic general store. In fact, it is one of the main attractions of Evart Michigan. Worth a two hour drive and fun for the whole family. But one tragedy befalls this beloved store. The cheese in stock was not Sarjento brand. Sarjento cheese, as many know, is the epitome of class and high end charcuterie. We needed some fancy cheese to impress our in law’s parents and had to settle for Dutch Farms pre-sliced extra sharp cheddar and individually wrapped pepper jack...
Not bad for a small grocery store, but if you really have to do a ton of shopping, it's much less expensive to make the drive to Meijer or Walmart. They have a great variety of sausages, and other pork/beef products. Closed on Sundays, and does not sell beer/wine or liquor.
They have a large choice of meats and their deli chicken is very good but if you want to go shopping and have a big list I would not shop there they're too expensive but they do have a good deal on their Deli and their meat department
